So they had a field goal, a penalty extends the drive, and they end up with nothing.
Well thats unfortunate.

The end of the first half in this SNF game still has me chuckling.

As does the Twitter fallout of that play!

Sorry Mach.

It would be nice for them to at least break the shutout.

My thoughts of the day:

1. Bob Sanders got injured...and the sun set this evening. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the most injury prone player I've ever seen. He might be a legitimate run stopper, but how this man takes in a salary in the NFL is beyond me.

2. The Packers defense looked very good, don't know if it had to do with the makeshift Philly offense, but they looked good throughout the whole game. Vick can make all defenses pay with his feet.

3. That Stafford injury REALLY kills any chance the Lions had to make an early season surprise. I thought they could pull it off, but not so much anymore.

4. Arian Foster. Are you freaking kidding me? Wow.

5. Wow Alex Smith, the game started with such promise. The 49ers could capitalize early. And then the tide turned, in a big way.

6. It's oh so strange to see Donovan McNabb in red.

Sadly #1 is 100% true. He can't even last a few games anymore. I think Indy will be fine though and will bounce back to 5-1 before the bye week (minimum 4-2).

Romo...you're really going to Bryant here? Twice?

and he hits the 54 million dollar man across the middle.

No reason to throw to anyone other than #19 right now. This is the game.

They threw to Austin TWICE on the entire drive! First one was a short gain in their own zone.

Again, appalling play-calling.

Poorly coached. Training camp was like a country club.

I picked Washington to win the East. I don't know that they will, but I think they are much better than they are getting credit for. I hope they sweep Philly at least.

That most likely cost Alex Barron his NFL job at the end of the game.

Randy Moss goes off in post game comments. http://www.torontosun.com/sports/foo.../15326126.html

Quote:
“I want to be here as a Patriot,” an emotional Moss said. “I love being here. But I just think, from a business standpoint, this probably will be my last year here as a Patriot. And I’m not retiring.”
Quote:
“I’m not saying I’m not appreciated, but I would like to feel (appreciated) sometimes,” Moss said. “Nothing has been discussed. There has not been anything said. Not a letter. Nothing.
“I’m not saying that I want to stay here but I love playing here. If the future of my job lets me go to another team, then that’s what it’s going to be. But right now, I have a contract with the New England Patriots and I have a job to do. So I’m going to play my year out and do the best of my ability.

“I’ve already showed that I can play at a high level at age 33,” he added. “For me to be offered a contract after the season is over, I think that would be a smack in my face.”
Quote:
This is not football. Football leaves you in college and high school. This is a job ... That’s all I’m saying.
Quote:
“I’m old. I’m not ready to leave the league yet but I still have a family to provide for. All I’m saying is, if I’m wanted here, I want to be here. If I’m not going to be here, then that’s it.”
