I just got back from a chase down around Brooks (JiriHrdina came with me). I bought an SLR today, hopefully I'll get some better pics. If I have any cool ones I'll post em.

edit:

nothing too great, the storm didn't have much structure.

Perfect chase country. Not a tree or barely a hill in sight!

Yeah a lot of it was really nice but the road system is so crappy. We ended up on the north side of the storm, headed east on a gravel road for about half an hour while the hail was steaming northeast towards us, a bit unnerving.

Ya, there is definetely a lack of good backroads to choose from. Very limited in the escape routes.

First storm chase for me yesterday and it was a lot of fun - definitely causes you to look at the sky a little differently.

At 7:24 my area was issued a severe thunderstorm warning. I wonder how my parents, sister and her friends are doing out at the lake.

I edited my post. The radar changed significantly in just ten minutes. Things look a bit more interesting now.

Can't see them being too potent. 17 degree weather isn't usually the best fuel for a wicked storm.

That said, we're starting to get some rain on the west side.
