Any point of booking ahead with my desired bodyshop, or do I have to wait until after I see the adjustor?

Just a quick suggestion. Wait until the end of summer that way if another hail storm rolls through you claim the two as one and only pay one deductible and one claim.

well i thought i had gotten lucky with my car parked downtown by 3rd ave and 5th st, but just got out to look and there's small dents all over the hood and roof. this sucks, i've never had to go through insurance for anything before. think i'll wait a few days before calling though so i'm not on hold for an hour

Negative, parts of the SW (the west in this case) got absolutely owned.
I know Strathcona all the way down to Westbrook/Spruce Cliff got golf ball+ sized ones.

Trashed. Completely trashed a good 25 dings on every panel on every side. Looks like it was driven between enemy lines during WW1

Don't most insurance companies have a call back feature? Just call them, leave your number and wait. I did that and got a call back an hour later. I got a claim number for both my cars and my house.
They'll be calling again to arrange for an adjuster to come inspect things. And I have the same question, should I book body shop time now, or wait until the adjuster sees the cars? I'm going to repair at least one of my cars anyway, the only question is will I have to pay out of pocket.

TD doesn't
1 hour and 20 minutes so far.
Can I wait until the end of summer to make a claim? Or do I claim now and just ask them to wait until the end of summer to do the fix (in case there's a 2nd round). My car is grey so you don't notice them that much.

Consider yourself lucky, TD's lines dont even get answered now. They're just ringing to no end now. No menu options, just ringing.

Just take the money and then you can fix it when you want.

You must have had the same sale! I bought a longbox standard v6 f150 for 14k brand new with some hail damage. Great price for a truck. The damage just made it glisten in the sun it wasn't severe.

Fawking TD / Meloche... You have to go through two of their 'drive in' appraisers, and they are booking past October right now!
Why the effing effer can't I pay out of pocket and just submit a claim

Ouch, that is brutal.
On a side note, I dropped my car off at the body shop this morning to get some repairs done from driving into my garage with my bike racks on the roof. I almost put it off until next week this morning. Thank god I dropped it off today.

Crap. Just doubled check my Odyssey and there is damage. Really minimal. Like 8 dents on one side. I just got the vehicle 2 weeks ago!
I guess i will just go through that DNT place.

Well that was a fun chase. Around 1 I was leaving the gym and saw what would become the tornado warned cell out east and decided I should plan a chase. By the time I got home and checked stuff out the Calgary cell was just hitting the north/central part of the city. I tried to get out on Glenmore but it was insane. I saw lightning hit a power poll about a block from me - giant blue glowing sphere was the result.
I ended up having to go south to 22X to get away from the core of the Calgary storm and tried to catch up to the tornado warned cell that was out just north of Strathmore. I did catch up to it around Hussar but it was just a huge mess of a storm by that time. I hung around a while but I didn't end up seeing any funnels. With the hail as bad as it was in the Calgary cell I decided not to try and punch through the tornado warned cell.
I wish I had have left about 20 minutes earlier, I would have been in a great position for any funnels out near Strathmore. Oh well, I managed to avoid the damaging hail. After I upload my pics I will post any that are cool.
