Not likely. Campaign and map design is probably the easiest part since I can make a full campaign in about two days in the map editor =-o.

It was part sarcasm as it takes Blizzard forever to release a game, but it wouldn't be that unreasonable.

Ohhh, I get it now. I didn't realize they were doing that.
I don't mind it at all. I'd much rather have 3 fully fleshed out campaigns that I have to buy separately, than 3 mini campaigns I can buy at once. Longer storylines = good.

just as long as Blizzard is better at releasing their episodic content than Valve. i can't believe there's no word on Episode 3 yet for HL2

It sounds like there are still collectors editions to preorder out there, for those who are still interested.

I might try and sneak out to South Center after the wife goes to bed.
I have to keep it secret because I could not bear the look of disappointment in her eyes if she knew.

I am tempted as well. But the gf is a bit more . . . open to gaming. Heck, she was the one that wanted to go to Blizzcon.

If things ever go south with you two, lemme know, eh? ;D
My wife likes to sing playing Rock Band and has some Wii games she enjoys but generally only supports my gaming if it's a nice cinematic looking game that she can enjoy watching such as Uncharted and Alan Wake and the like.
What's the deal with Midnight Releases? Is there Mountain Dew and Doritos served or something? Or do they just stay open for the ultrageek gamers who can't wait till morning for their fix?

My girlfriend gave me the green light after some gentle mocking. I think I'll head to future shop for the free hat and headset.

If you buy it @ Best Buy you get a free Sidewinder gaming mouse.
I guess Futureshop's version is the headset. Any other retailers? I don't usually line up for stuff. The last time I lined up for something was Axe Music's Grand Opening and that was more of a party event that was enjoyable with huge crowds, music, a spinning wheel with great prizes (I took home a Roland Keyboard Table), etc.
Something still makes me feel that lining up for a videogame is a bit too out there for me and I don't have any friends who would be interested in going with me to make it more interesting.
I might just wait 3-4 years and buy the Battlechest version when it comes out. If enough of my friends do actually buy it in the next month or so, I'll probably get a digital download.

I've never lined up for one either. But this isn't just any game. This is going to be my life for the next while

I don't know. I think I'm just going to wait 200-300 years and fight the Zerg and Protoss in person.

Heh, fair enough. I've never been to Blizzcon, but it should certainly be interesting.
I did the midnight thing for The Burning Crusade, it was long and somewhat scary. And somewhat lame given the time difference with the East Coast peeps getting it sooner and telling how cool it was in gchat.

Did you go hours in advance or just show up before?

QUESTION:
So I pre-ordered from futureshop from the link in the original post, and have been playing the beta for the past couple months... am I going to have to wait for my physical copy to be shipped before I can play this? Or will I be given a CD Key online somehow or something in 25 mins?

It won't be in 25 minutes, all digital copies are available at 10am tomorrow. That is all I know, don't know if you'll get a physical copy (can't you just walk in the store and grab one with the pre-order?), or a code online.

You have to buy one @ midnight (2 minutes ago) in the physical store to be able to play it right now.
To be able to play if you are waiting for an online purchase, you need to wait until you recieve the box as Futureshop only sells physical copies and not digital downloads.
