For sure, Saints frequently draft BPA over need, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Well round 1 is done, good work all. Now we'll get onto round 2 and see who finds their value picks.

From pick 41 to 49 it's pretty much all you. The Patriots they do love those 2nd round picks.

The Detroit Lions are happy to select OT Charles Brown from USC.

As mentioned with the first pick the Lions need to rebuild the team starting with the lines.

The Davis pick was just a joke to see if anyone was paying attention.

Except that he was already picked......

Crap!!

i figured he might be and read over the list to make sure he wasn't.

obviously my reading skills are about as good as my ability to tell if Tucker kicked the puck in or not.

New pick will be up shortly.

Edit: 9th?? Did not expect him to be that high.

He wouldn't have made it past 13.

Fair enough I was going off of his overall ranking which seems to be more in the 20's but being that he is an OT and with his potential I can see why he went high and is likely to go high.

I will say I was very excited to "see" him there and would have loved if he fell to the Lions.

There are 4 consensus OTs (although there are questions about Davis' desire) and lots of teams that would love to have them.

He is pretty useless which isn't surprising. it was such an terrible pick at the time.

He seems decent at making cheap shots and I guess he is adequate if he was your 5th OL as a guard or RT but for a good team he should be on the bench and only in the game if absolutely needed.

From what I hear he has a lot of physical skills and the potential to do well but he seems to have about 0 between the ears from I have seen and heard.

You thinking Taylor Mays?

I have KC taking berry at 5 in my mock as well if they don't trade out but its tough because it is a pretty good safety class. But the chance to draft the next Ed Reed is pretty hard to pass on. For that reason its a great pick because I think he is the closest to a sure fire stud as there is in this draft.

Getting Mays this late is good value considering if he came out last year as a junior he was considered a sure fire top 5 pick as well

With the 35th pick in the '10 CP NFL mock draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are euphoric to be able to select Taylor Mays from Southern California...

With the 36th overall pick in the draft the Kansas City Chiefs select

Brandon Spikes MLB, Florida

Spikes has the size and ability to shed blockers to be an effective middle guy in our 3-4 defence that was useless against the run last year. He also has good football blood lines, and plays with an element of nasty while displaying good leadership.

He did run a pretty slow 40 at the combine...but we like his game film, and last year...we let too many running backs get 3 yards past the line of scrimmage and had it end up going for 40. So we're more concerned with getting guys to the ground in the first 5 yards and will let someone else run them down on the outside.
