2 assists for Brodie tonight in Barrie's win. He's turned it up the last few games after struggling points wise the first 4-5 games.
He may not have been puting up the points, but Brodie really worked on refining his defensive game and was still accelerating the transition of a dangerous team like the Colts.
Dunno. But what I know is that Ortio is unquestioned starter for WJC and that's the only thing you wanted to hear .
I also want to hear that he will be starting in the Canada vs. Finland exhibition game in the Saddledome on Dec 23 and that he has the chance to meet Miikka Kiprusoff and get inspired. Is that too much to ask?

Wow, I didn't know our boys had a game in Calgary. Well, it's quite logical to think that Ortio gets start there because Canada is as tough competition as it gets and for any team in any sports you want your best guys in toughest games. Yes, he should get the start in his future home.
Tappara-TPS 6-3. Ortio 16/21, 27:56 mins. Five goals against... better luck next time. He earned himself back-to-back starts, that's positive. And of those five goals he should have got one, maybe two so loss wasn't all his fault. Couple goals from one-timers and another two from high shots from short range. Those are tough for any goalie but maybe he has work to do to prevent those kind of goals. Play in Elite League is much faster than in lower levels and goalie needs to think more, needs to be all the time aware where the puck is [as grown men are bigger and they go harder to net than juniors=goalie needs to lurk behind players to find the puck] and puck moves among men so fast that goalie needs to predict plays before it happens. Those are things goalie's learn when they get more expierenced so I wouldn't call for example reading the play as Ortio's weakness. He just needs more tough games and he'll be fine.
John Armstrong is finally healthy again and played in his first game for quite sometime. 2 assists for him in a 6-2 heat win. Really hope he can stay healthy the rest of the season.
I sure hope Backlund can pick up his game this year. He is really underwhelming. I'm kind of dissapointed.
While it would be nice to see him be a ppg player, from what ive heard hes learning to play better on D. He will probably put up 40-50 points this year, which may not look good right now, but it if he learns to play better D it will be more beneficial in the long run.

He was playing with John Armstrong and Sutter tonight and still ended up a -1.
He just looks plain uninterested whenever i see him playing.
