Sorry, I never had fast-snap locking auto-aim on PC so it was a shock for me when I played MW2 on xbox.
Here's a chart breaking down the differences for the PC version illustrating our beef with Infinity Ward. I'm sure you guys on console will enjoy it just the same as it's now a game tailored for you guys but this is a sea-change for the worse for PC players.

I like it so far. I'm having some serious issues online though. I find the regular core so hard because I have stopping power on and still takes 3-4 shots to drop someone and 1-2 of thier shots to take me down. Hardcore wasn't any better than that either. It just doesn't have a uav. I also dont like the heart beat thing. Find it kinda cheating on HC.
I played about 4 missions on campaign and like it so far.

I am interested in playing the single player mission but do not want to pay that much for a game that has its online portion crippled. I'll definitely wait a year, and by that time I'll probably have lost my interest to play it.

Isn't IW claiming that they are improving online game play for PC users? How can they possible think so?

It's mainly BS about how since the system automatically matches you with other players, you won't have to play against people who are better than you and that it'll be easier to get into the game

Wow. The pirates sure pissed of IW. I guess you all get to suffer for it. Pretty obvious they don't care much for PC users anymore.

Much more money in the console scene now. No surprising that they are tailoring it towards that crowd now.
Also, I hear multiplayer is awesome, definitely not crippled. Pretty much an extension of MW multiplayer, so if you liked that one you'll be fine. I'm most interested in playing spec-ops.
I guess since MW1 was such a big leap from COD3, people were expecting a lot of innovation and it seems MW2 is primarily a tweaked MW1. Picking up my copy tonight, but won't be playing it for a while (still playing borderlands and AC2 is out next week).

I had a free rental from rogers so I just picked it up, give it a try and then decide if I wanna buy it, normally I am a sports type gamer, but I liked COD 4

On the PC, multiplayer has been crippled. Previously PC users had the freedom to choose, and IW took that away. Look at the aforementioned comparison. Everything that has been taken away is/was a huge benefit to playing online on the PC. I won't play any other way. I saw an interview with on of the lead people who worked on MW2 and when asked about the PC's online game play he said something to the tune of, you'll play the game the way we want you to.

They all love to blame this sort of stuff of piracy, but at the end of the day it's not as major issue as they claim it is. COD4 sold very well on the PC and yet they reward the PC market with a higher price tag (higher than any of PC game on the market too) and significantly less features.
Companies just use piracy as an excuse to scale down PC versions or even not release the game altogether as they're more interested in pumping out sequels with a new coat of paint that the console market eats up.
What this all comes down to is that COD4 sold too well and the PC market has carried the COD franchise too long for Activision to simply not release MW2 on the PC. So they up the price, gimp the game significantly and watch the sales plummet. Now when MW3 comes out (and it will) Activision will be whining about how poor MW2 sold on PC (due to piracy obviously) and it will be console exclusive.

No dedicated servers=no pam4 no pro mod, Infinity Ward can suck it.

If infact the ping rates are 100+ it will be unplayable, If they don't release a dedicated server this game will have more pirated copys than bought ones.

I'm well aware it's Remembrance Day, but it's not a stat holiday here in Ontario. Interesting to know.
On the bright side, my FS copy arrived in the mail! Yee haw!

25 kills in a row?!?! Jeez.. for me it's more like die 25 times without registering 1 kill. Is there a bonus for that?
