Questions for Dolphin fans....
1. I see Dan Carpenter kicked 2 40+ yard field goals tonight. Does he have a shot at being the kicker?
2. Does Lex Hilliard have a prayer at making the team?
Thanks guys!

1.) He's a good kicker the one he kicked from 49 yards would have easily won the game for the stamps against the riders a week ago.
2.) Haven't heard much about Hilliard all training camp, whether that is good or not remains to be seen.
What I liked tonight was, Ricky looks like his stud self, that 9 yard run out of nothing was special, the way he reversed the field with his speed was awesome.
Henne has a cannon of an arm, I'm hopeful he's the future maybe next year or the year after, right now I can't wait to see Chad Pennington perfom, that is how bad our QB situation is.

Based on what I have read from camp both Carpenter and Feely have been kicking long field goals. Feely didn't play last night to heal a groin injury. As for Hilliard, I would be surprised if he made the team. There are 4 guys ahead of him imo. Brown, Williams, Parmele, and Cobbs. Cobbs will probably only stick around to play special teams.

Thanks for the answers guys.
Going into the draft/ college UFA frenzy in April I really thought Dan Carpenter was the best NFL prospect coming from Montana. He was money for four years in Missoula and obviously kicked in some adverse conditions. Even if he doesn't stick in Miami, I think he'll end up kicking somewhere. I was really hoping Denver would sign him given their kicking situation at the time. He'd have been a perfect fit.
I thought Hilliard was drafted by a team with too much ahead of him. I hope he can latch on with someone else if he doesn't make it.

All I said was he didn't fit in with them in response to an honest question.
Then you baited me with yours, and I answered based on the timeline in this thread which clearly shows 3 arrests in a span of just over 1 year, but not within the last year....which is what you asked me. If you want to label him a thug go right ahead.
Get your fork ready.

So explain how this "GREAT kid" has been arrested at least 4 or 5 times since he started college.
He might not be a thug, but great kids don't end up in the back of a police cruiser 3 times in 12 months.

So it's come down to my use of the adjective great now?
Remember where your argument started?

FYI: The Fins have released Feely this morning and will keep Carpenter as their kicker.

I think the Chiefs could still use a kicker. They might find themselves in field goal range once or twice this season. Plus they have to kick off at least once in every game.

I hope big Lex makes it too. His Montana connection goes even deeper as he was born and raised in Kalispell.

Carpenter was raised in Helena, maybe we should ask him what there is to do there.

I'm sure the Saints fans on here already know, but Hollis Thomas has torn his tricep and is out a minimum of two months. Also, rookie WR Adrian Arrington is expected to be placed on the IR after suffering a severe case of turf toe against the Cardinals last Thursday. Really too bad about Arrington, he had looked great up to that point. It'd be a shame to see him get released and just scooped up by some other team.

If he's on IR he can't get picked up by anyone else, he becomes an expensive cheerleader for the year.

Pretty clear that Eddie Royal has moved up to the #2 spot on Denver's WR depth chart. Some might say that points to positional weakness, but the kid has had a great camp and has performed very well in the preseason games. He's going to be a contributor this year.
Can't wait to watch the second preseason game on NFL network tomorrow afternoon. Cutler starts 9/9 for 120 and a TD. Two deep balls to Royal.
