We had to put down our Schnauzer a couple years ago. He was 15 and was starting to have repeated strokes. That was one of the hardest days of my life. Sorry for your loss MMF. Just think about the good fun times.
Puppy Guy, I'd like to think he goes on in death as he did in life... loving of any and all humans he ever meet and hateful and mean to any dog, lol. He didn't get along with other dogs at all. After the stroke I just stop caring enough to correct it.
Maybe me and Gizmo can cut a deal with Afterlife Management: he can go be with people and I'll take his place in doggie heaven. He and I will both win that way.

MMF - sorry about your dog. Before we got our Boston Terrier, we had a white german shepherd - the best dog anyone could ask for. We had to put him down at 13 years old, due to his health. That was 5 years ago, and I still miss him.
Anyway, do you still have your Boston Terrier - Frank?

Funny you say that, I had a dog as a child and she behaved the same way, loving humans, hating other dogs, and she seemed to have some terrier in her. We never knew exactly what she was only that she was a poodle cross. My parents saved her from the pound when a neighbours breeding dog got out and got amorous.
My parents got her about a little over a year before I was born so when she died, it was devastating, I knew her my entire life. It was the first close death I ever had to go through. (I actually had a grandfather die prior to that, but I only met him twice and was pretty young when he died.)
It's nearly 20 years later and I still dream of her about twice a year. Always fun filled frolicking dreams.
Very sorry for your loss. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the pics.
Here is my boy Hank...got him from the Cochrane Humane Society after he was a RCMP surrender from a drug house and then left at the Humane Society for 4 months with nobody taking him home. Luckily for me he lasted that long and now the two of us are pretty much always together...should also be noted he introduced me to my current girlfriend (we met at the dog park).

My little buddy passed away 3-weeks ago, probably around the same time i was put in the sin bin. She had been with us for 18-years. I'm 28 years old now just to put that into perspective.
Life has definatley changed since she left.

Loosing a pet that has been part of your family for 18 years is almost as difficult as losing a child. We love them just as much.
Sorry for your loss. Take care ok?

While I do understand where your comparison is coming from, as someone who has had to put down 4 best furry friends in my lifetime and also lost a child - they are not the same.

Not at all, as I've said, I would rather start with LA over any of the other WC playoff teams. Bunch of underachievers who look good on paper but don't even deserve to be in the playoffs.

Thanks for the condolences. But she was not like my child what-so-ever, she actually considered me an equal due to our playful nature during both our childhoods. If I shouted at her she shouted back.
The #### I taught her, she knew hockey and soccer balls go into the net, taught her sakeboarding even used to practice jumping hurdles.
