Thats a huge contract to hold in AHL land.... I believe if he is Waived his deal is 900K

Two reasons for this:
1. I can use him as an injury call up if one of my tough guys goes down
2. If someone else suffers a major injury to an expensive player I can flip Conny to them and then they can waive him.

An unique situation since his salary is so high I can likely pass him through waivers as much as I want as no one will want to have to keep him on their roster an entire season at that rate.

I guess I thought of doing the same thing, but figured a UFA Craig Conroy might be better for everyone

Yeah, now that the waiver roll over is done...good chance he'll pass. I thought about it long and hard too. But gambled that he'd go unclaimed and I might have a shot at him as a FA for a lot less money. He didn't have a great year but still decent enough numbers to rate like a 74 OV.

The only problem is that he has to clear waivers coming up as well, there's a 48 hour hangup every time you wish to recall him. I would guess you'll also need to call him up 48 hours before he's traded

We decided to take goalie Cedrick Desjardins with our 2nd round pick. He just won the ECHL championship as the starting goalie for the Cincinnati Cyclones and should be in the AHL next year with the Hamilton Bulldogs (Canadiens property). The Thrashers pass on future picks in the dispersal draft.
