I'll put my logic up against your logic any day.
What logic?

Your posts in this thread have me shaking my head. I've tried to respond to several but I just don't know where to start.

Your post dismissing "rights", saying that minority rights lead to anarchy (?????) and telling gays they have it better here than in the middle east so they should be happy takes the cake. Anybody looking for your "logic" need look no further than that post to be convinced you aren't interested in looking at things logically.

well thats a lovely statement...personally I could care less...HOWEVER...since when has marriage become a right? Marriage is a religous "event" as far as Im concerned.
There are civil marriages that have nothing to do with religon. In fact, my sister was married by a judge, not a religous leader. I suppose you're against that also.
I agree that marriages do not necessarily have to be a religious event.

Civil marriages happen more and more all the time. As a matter of fact, when my Fiance and I are married in May it will be in a civil ceremony performed by a Commissioner of Oaths.

Marriages performed by a Church could be considered religious but the fact remains that the minister/priest is still simply being sanctioned by the state to perform the civil details of marriage in addition to the ceremony being conducted by the church.

Marriage often has nothing to do with religion, nor is it always a religious event.

Add that to the fact that several religions do allow same sex marriage and your argument has no merit.

In fact Christmas is a Christian holiday. It's the birth of Christ. People in North America celebrate it because Christianity is the dominant religion out here. Christmas is not celebrated in some other religions. People who don't follow or believe in Christianity have altered the form of Christmas. They now celebrate Christmas as a time for family and friends to get together and give gifts.
I responded because your posts are pointless, and you add no intelligent argument into any of them.

Why did you write so much to tell us about christmas? Do you think that none of us are aware? Or that none of us are aware that Christmas tends to be (not for me) a cash-cow?

Rather than spout off something an elementary school teacher might tell her class, why don't you add something of your own that people might care to read...

Thanks for insulting me by the way. I was only cracking a small joke, but I guess that warrants an insult, just the same as being a silly drone and spitting out garb that everybody already knows deserves a little crack here and there. Funny how things work in cycles, hey?

My research showed that only 1 in 7 homosexuals have had less than 50 partners over their lifetime.

Just out of curiousity, where did you get your numbers from?

But this points to a possible inability to maintain a stable relationship in which children can thrive.

Is it possible that having legalized same-sex marriage would make those relationships with children more stable?

*edited for totally screwed up post.
I deleted my reference list so I can't find the address. As I remember it was either a Danish or Dutch study on their respective populatons.

I definitely think your second point is a good one. All I really want is for society to take a bit more time to figure out if this is the best thing. I personally am all for civil unions as well.
That's cool........I was just curious, that's all.

The number just seemd a little high at first glance, but if it's a Dutch study, that may be the reason!!

This is good stuff re: studies

http://www.realwomenca.com/newsletter/2000...article_10.html

It's sort of a joke of an organization but the numbers are what is really funny.

28% of gay white men have had more than 1000 partners!

100% of this is garbage!

1000 partners? They are gay people, no NBA players.

As for Peter12's study that he referenced, I think we need to know the definition of "partner" before we can come to any conclusions.

Good quality up to date stats there...

I personally liked this:

Quote:
REAL Women of Canada (Realistic, Equal, Active, for Life) is a non-partisan, non-denominational organization of independent women.
going on to say

Quote:
To promote, secure and defend legislation which upholds the Judeo-Christian understanding of marriage and family life.
ummm, ok....
