Or Saskatchewan, for that matter. They'd be even richer than Alberta if not for the NDP.

I am amazed at how low the vote for the Alliance has been so far. 4% of the vote so far? That's amazingly low.

There is that. How on earth could the Liberals retain Taft as leader after this?
And to add: who would have guessed Edmonton would go Tory blue, and Calgary Liberal red (relatively speaking)?

Liberals look really strong in Calgary, even though it's early: leading Foothills, Varsity, Bow, Elbow. Also ahead of the Conservatives in Montrose.

If Jim Dinning became the leader of the Libs, I think they might actually have a chance.....but until those commies get rid of their ultra-leftist ideology I had no choice but to vote PC. I thought about voting WRA but I figured they were too fringe and didn't want to "Nader" my vote.

Albertans will get what they deserve for their blind faith in Ed Stelmach. More rapid development in the oilsands which will lead to a HARD fall from grace when the boom ends. They are no different than the Americans in 2004 - throwing their future away because things are good right now.

It's a blood-bath.
Are the Liberal and NDP leaders going to have to resign after tonight?

Coupled with the continued development and expansion of the uranium, diamonds and natural gas they're already producing.

They are smart. Instead of selling out to corporate interests like Alberta has, they will wait until the world demand for oil grows, and then cash in for far more than we have.

That presumes forward thinking on the part of the NDP. You are giving them too much credit.
Watching three ridings tonight... Calgary-Hays, Airdrie-Chestermere and Cardston-Taber-Warner. Not a one is reporting anything yet. grrr.

If anything the demand for oil is going to fall as alternative measures are created.

The announcement of a landslide majority is really premature. We've got like 1 poll reporting from each riding. This crazy Liberal MLA is right. Bad journalism.
