Looks like Vulcan was right. It is a bunch of campaign rhetoric designed to gain votes.
And Obama is just like every other politician....

Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama's campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada's ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.
The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.

I apologize to Vulcan for not believing him.
I guess I had believed that Obama wouldn't stoop to this level.

Maybe a dumb question, but when do they announce won won the Democratic nomination?
Seems like this has been going on forever.

March 4th primaries today!
Vermont is clearly Obama territory but does not have many delegates.
Rhode Island is up for grabs with lots of undecided voters.
Ohio shows a slight lead for Clinton.
Texas shows a slight lead for Obama.
Clinton NEEDS to win Texas and Ohio by at least 15 points.
Should be an interesting night. You can find the results this evening on the OP!

She did well on SNL last Saturday.

The only question here is whether Hillary will do the right thing and bow out if she loses significantly. If they split, they are in the same place tomorrow that they were yesterday.

I would think if she wins Ohio and Rhode Island and loses narrowly in Texas she carries on till Pennsylvania on April 22. Why shouldn't she is after 11 losses in a row she manages to comeback and be still there with a legit shot at winning?

I think she has to pack it in. When taken into perspective she has found herself in states where she was supposed to be a run away winner. Obama has made huge gains across the board and is only picking up more steam. He's finding more support in every demographic and is out raising Clinton by massive numbers. I don't know why Clinton would carry on, other than to be vindictive and try to inflict as much damage on her political opponent as possible. Its tiem for the Democrats to get their house in order and focus on beating the Republicans rather than beating themsleves up. McCain is down in the polls to Obama, but up on Clinton, so the wise thing would be to ride the horse that has the best chance of winning the big race. Clinton ain't that horse, and the DNC should explain that fact to her ASAP.

I think that Hillary will keep running if today's results are close. After today, the next big step will be Penn and then the convention in August. Unless she gets absolutely blown out of the water today, she sticks around until the convention and hopes the tides will turn.
If this occurs, it's good for the Republicans... keep the Dem house divided right until the convention.

Clinton has already passed that point and is now trying to take the (Democratic) ship down with her. Check out this quote:

Emphasis added.
Jesus...no matter how badly you want to win, you never give a tacit endorsement of the other party's candidate over your opponent from your own party in the primaries. At the end of the day, Clinton and Obama are on the same side and should be united to work together to defeat the Republicans in the general election. That's just monumental stupidity on Hillary's part to say such a thing.

Bang on. The only one who benefits from a drawn out Democratic campaign is McCain. The more mud that the two Democrats toss at each other the easier its going to be for McCain to bring those same issues up and not appear to the muckraker. With an issue already tossed out there, McCain is just bringing up what is already "common knowledge". But if McCain has to resort to digging dirt up, it re-enforces the image of him being an old school politican and not an agent of change. The Dems need to end the primary race ASAP or they risk the general election come fall.

I heard Rush Limbaugh was encouraging Republicans yesterday to go out and vote for Clinton in Ohio and Texas, so that the Dems will keep beating each other up.

Same stuff is being heard in the hate radio echo chamber. I actually laughed when the picture of Obama, in the Kenyan tradition garb, found its way onto Matt Drudge's gossip site, because it was so transparent where the image would come from (and no the Clinton campaign was not responsible) yet no one was able to piece it together. The muck will continue to be flung as long as the DNC allows it. Unfortunately, the DNC is too stupid to recognize the negative situation this breeds and how much of an opportunity they give to the Republicans to inject the issues they wish into the zeitgeist before the real campaign begins.

And the longer the Dems nomination battle is drawn out the further and further Obama and Clinton are going to push the campaign left. The further left the Dem nominee is after the primaries, the more reasonable and moderate McCain will look come the general election.

This confuses me... I thought Limbaugh (along with the likes of Coutler and Beck) was completely against McCain and in terms of Coutler, she is on record saying that she would campaign for Hillary if McCain won the Republican nomination.
Is this a potential sign that the wounds in the Republican party are starting to heal?

No, its a sign that the hardcore Republicans realize their backs are against the wall and they better circle the wagons fast. They have a lot to lose if they promote Clinton over one of their own.
