I'm bloody still up because I have to start my car one more time, damn "livable" communities. In the brochure, everything was green and people were smiling, walking and playing outdoors. And Mr. Sun was happy and radiating warmth.

Sounds like problems with the C-Train again (big surprise). I got to the station, got out of my car, heard the loudspeaker come on, turned around got back in my car and drove into work.

No idea what the announcement was, but I can only imagine...

Surprised you found a parking spot if you work in the core.

Saw a lot of "LOT FULL" signs on the way in. Luckily I don't have to park down here. Seems like everyone and their offpsring drove today.

C-Train was fine coming in from the NW this morning....surprisingly efficent. The train driver even told everyone to have a nice day and be safe. That got a few laughs out of people around me.

My neighbour on the corner stretched an extension cord across the road to plug his truck in. I'm not sure how safe that is (it wasn't laying flat - it looked recently uncoiled) but maybe he just plugged it in this morning to get it to start.

On a different note, I must give credit where credit is due. The commute during this lovely weather has been extremely uneventful.

on another note, anybody use those eliminator solar panels from Crappy tire to keep your battery somewhat charged in cold weather? I am leaving for about a week and am thinking about getting one while I leave my car at the airport

I've been in the office for over an hour, have the heat blasting, and I can't get warm, its not like I was stuck outside for a long period of time. But I'm shaking and freezing

Maybe part of that fart from yesterday caught in your colon and froze there, cooling you from the inside out

I know that my truck has a minor power drain issue. When I'm gone for significant periods of time I just disconnect the battery.

And this morning my truck started via remote

My furnace can't get the house warmer than 15 degrees. It's a 2 yr old Carrier. Any quick fixes / tips before I call Arpi's?

I can honestly say I know what -47 feels like, and it feels different than -25.

I've felt true -50 with no windchill, and I have to say, far colder then -50 with the windchill.

Never felt -50, but I spent a Christmas Day out in Cochrane in, oh, 1983 and it was in the -40s. I'd take a -20 with an equivalent windchill than the straight -40 any day.

On a side note, am I ever glad I finished my garage this year. I cross-furred R22 Roxul insulation up top. Without firing up the furnace, it was only -7 in the garage this morning.

Yup, new one 3 months ago. Blower motor doesn't seem to have much oomph.
