That is standard operating procedure in these situations. IPs in this case are clean.

All of the world? Give me a break. A few northern states do not count as ''all over the world''
In that case, CFR in Edmonton attracts people all over the world.
Guess Saskatchewan, Alberta, and eastern BC, along with Montana and North Dakota consist of all over the world

IP's can be changed, people move. Sundeep is a student isn't he? Wouldn't be suprising if he has a different address now then the time he was banned. I think it's him.

Wow you are a tool...or live in a pine box far removed from humanity. As much as I am ambivalent towards Edmonton, Im not so blind as to what the Stampede is vs the Mall....The Stampede does pull people in from all over the world...Europe, Suthn States....everywhere. West Edmonton Mall gets their visitors from Ponoka.
Im out in Waterloo Ontario and just did a quick walk thru poll in my office...the question was...
Stampede or West Edmonton Mall?....30 responses... ALL for the Stampede.

Well if anything I'm sure he is reigning it in a bit to not be exposed so quickly, he will eventually though. I'd be shocked if it wasn't him.

Stampede attracts people worldwide. Heck, there were people from 3 different countries working at the beer garden I frequent during Stampede...when I worked at the Grandstand I met people from the US, all over Europe, lots of Aussies and Kiwis, as well as lots of people from Asia.
Capital Ex? Ponoka maybe?

Got it???? The point is...it is a lot of people. Where do they all come from? Who knows. Where do all the people that go to disney land come from? Same thing. But I would guess a lot of people from LA, San Fran, Vegas, San Diego and the rest of the area go there often...just as lots of people from Calgary go skiing often. Do more people go to disney land than WEM. Hell ya...but look at the democraphics of the region.
|
Wow that turned into a personal attack quickly. I guess you don't like being proved wrong.
A four day pass is one ticket. You can buy them at most seven elevens in Florida... I'm not sure about LA.
Apparently you didn't read your own source... heres a quote from your post on page 2...

"the mall attracts anywhere between 10 million and 20 million people each year placing the mall at par with the two Disney parks of the United States, with about half of that number being tourists from outside of the Edmonton area. The mall is so big that it alone accounts for 1% of all retail sales in Canada (1990)."
|
TWO disney parks.... Did you read that part? O wait... thats a stupid question. If you did you wouldn't have said something so moronic.
Yes alot of people go there, but putting it on par with Disney World/Land is just stupid. Chinook center is more comparable. 42 million people go to the amusement parks each year. Thats double all of your West Ed numbers.
Why do you have such strong opinions when you're so uninformed? All you do is google the topic. You're just talking out of your ass and digging yourself deeper. From what I've noticed about your posts on this forum this isn't the first time. You seem to have an opinion on every possible topic yet there no way you can be fully informed on all of them.
At least most of your posts are in the off topic forum so the rest of us don't need to put up with you on the Flames board.

The mall in question is probably the rumoured Alberta version of a Mills outlet mall. Vaughan Mills north of Toronto is the only new mall in Ontario in over a decade. If a mall is being built it isn't going to be the standard large mall, it will be a giant destination outlet mall that will draw shoppers from across Alberta.

Obviously, in the middle of nowhere, there has to be another reason for people to drive to Balzac, then just the horse racing, which I suspect will initally reduce the people actually going to the races...being so central before, and the general look of many of the patrons, not a lot currently going to Stampede Park are going to find thier way anywhere a distance away from a Ctrain/bus line.
So, make it a destination that people can spend a whole or half day trip, or even overnight trip. Go to the races Friday night, the a nice dinner, then to the Casino. Stay in the hotel that night, then the next morning some shopping etc.
Makes sense to immediatley build up the area while land is cheapest.

To get this back on topic...*G*
Browna, the UHA project is way way behind schedule. Originally the spring race meet was going to open that track, but the Horsemen's Assoc went and asked Stampede Park to run the meet. They agreed...then 6 months later they asked that the fall trotters meet also be held there...Stampede refused, (they are tearing down some of the barns used only for horse racing to build a new agriculture building) so they are going to have the trotters up in Grand Prairie in the fall. The UHA is hoping for spring 2008, but they might have to adjust the dates on the meet in order to have the track actually finished in time.
Given that track record, I'd be hesitant to believe any firm completion date for any shopping complex.

I've met/know people from "all over the world" who have come to Calgary for the Stampede. I worked in a restaurant during one Stampede and there were people in there everyday from "all over the world". I'm sure everyone on this site who lives in Calgary could relay similar experiences.
I don't like the Stampede and haven't been to the midway in over ten years so I don't understand why people would come from "all over the world" to see it, but they do.
If you really think it's comparable to the CFR then you have no idea what the Stampede even is.

I'll give Edmonton's mall credit for being more entertaining than the one in Beijing. It has certainly got tons of retail space but missing on all the attractions. I've only gone to West Ed a couple of times but the family certainly had fun -- Meanwhile the one in Beijing is boring. Apparently the one in Shanghai will be bigger but if it's like the one in Beijing won't be anything more than just a huge collection of stores.

It has
If it was Tikk, he would have blown up by now. e-town's quick to pull out the Edmonton plugs, and there's only 3 losers on the net that would fight as hard as this guy. Not to mention his "consult with fellow Edmontonians" on whether that Ikea in WEM was a hoax (laugh) Sundeep is the best bet.

Provide some stats to back up your claim.
You're an idiot if you actually believe people from overseas (in a large numbers - not those Japanese tourists who tour Banff, Jasper, Edmonton, Cowtown), or people from central/southern USA flock into calgary to see the Stampede.
Of course you probably believe the propoganda of "World's greatest outdoor show on earth."
Those fictional people you mention from ''all over the world''....ha, real convincing

Laugh. Do you think I'm making this up? Why would I? Unlike some people, I'm not all that concerned about this internet ****ing match, and I wouldn't bother to make that kind of thing up just to win it. I'm sure as hell not going to dig up some obscure statistics to prove what I already know from experience.
Anybody who has ever actually been to the Stampede knows there are tourists from all over the place.
Who said anything about flocking?

I had to look up CRF to see what you were talking about.
Canadian Finals Rodeo. Nov. 2005 total attendance - 94,861
Calgary Stampede 2005 total attendance - 1,242,928

Even if he did bring up stats (where would you even get them?) you'd probably have to consult with fellow Edmontonians to ensure that it was suffice
