I do all the IT for a local nonprofit organization, finishing up my Computer Science degree at U of C this month and am considering my options going forward, since the nonprofit world isn't a place for people to make any money. Of course it is an awesome work environment, so there are a lot of reasons to stay.

I'm an aircraft rescue firefighter. Typical government job, I guess, good benefits, a lot of b.s.
I get to drive a cool work rig:
I'm hoping to eventually go back to law school and focus on land/water law.

If you're going to spend time day in and day out at an office, you should consider the latter reason more than the former. Bigger pay can suck it if you don't enjoy going into the office. That makes a world of difference in your personal happiness, stress level and performance at work - and you'll find this out once you don't have book and homework to worry about anymore.
