^ Kerins didn't get time cut in his two games this year. He was just under 16 minutes per game. He played right around the same minutes as Backlund in his last game, and more than Klapka, Zary, Honzek and Lomberg. The game before He was just under Backs, and had the exact same ice time as Frost. He was ahead of Coleman, Honzek, Farabee, Pachal, Bean, Zary, KLpka and Lomberg.

The point I'm making isn't that they have a problem hitting the floor. Its that they won't LTIR Huberdeau in order to sign some random guy for $10m. They will just keep his contract on the cap.

This is why all those long retired guys traded. Carey Price counts $10m against San Jose's cap this year. Chicago has $14m in cap hits right now from Shea Weber and Ryan Ellis.

It allows you during the season to trade higher paid veterans without going below the floor and having to take on terrible contracts to offload and stay over the floor.

You are thinking of his 5 game stint last season in which he got 4 assists. However, his PDO was really high and his points were a bit smoke and mirrorish, He got one primary assist, the rest were secondary. He had a lot of luck especially in his first game. By game 5 he looked pretty lost and ended up being benched.

On the Wranglers he's 3rd in scoring (Gridin would be beating him if he was there though). But of the top 6 scorers on the team he's the only minus player. And he's -13 (2nd worst on the team and worst among forwards).
Fair, I completely blanked on the most recent call up. Still, seven games over two stints is not an adequate sample size.

His previous callup his ice time only got cut in the last game.

Maybe he should get a bigger look, but he's pretty low on my list of players I expect to do anything.

I'm not saying he's got star power written all over him, but even the completely senile Don Maloney is probably having a whisky and admitting this campaign is finished, so what do really have to lose by giving him the last 20 games after Milan?

Worst case is we are even worse and get closer to picking McKenna or Stenberg, but maybe he shows 2C or 3C potential, potentially even making Frost expendable so we can add more picks.

I said they should maybe give him a longer look. But there's almost zero chance he makes Frost expendable.

With 3 points in 11 games Kerins isn’t making much of a case for a call up
