True, but this team has a history of losing D-men after training camp. Particularly Valimaki, and Kulak come to mind.

Glad to see Bean is back.

Didn't they trade Kulak?

They did, after he cleared waivers, because they had too many bodies.

I agree, there are some teams who may take some chances to pick up younger D-men specially bigger ones like Solo and Kuz.
I will be willing to waive Kerins or Morton than Kuznetsov. Solo - not sure, but I like Solo than Bean.

Yes, I never said they lost him on waivers. Just that they lost him after training camp. Rinat Valiev was pretty much FCs though, so I don't think there was much difference.

Vali was lost on waivers but hasn't established himself as an NHLer and has been waived since...maybe the Flames were on to something

Kerins has to make the team. I don't know that anyone else on the bubble has made a case that we absolutely have to keep them up.

Honzek has played well and has more upside, I don't think its that cut and dried. Kerins is playing well though he should keep it up

There is no way the coaches are telling these guys to play with this little structure.

Long dumb stretch passes and poorly timed east west passes are exactly opposite of the system last year.

I think Kerins has more upside offensively. I really like his shot, and hockey sense. He's making a lot of good passes and plays in the O-zone.

Honzek looks very similar to Pospisil, north-south game, creates some space for his line mates, wins battles along the boards.

He's had good stretches and bad stretches the last few games. I hope he stays up and continues to play well, but I don't think it is guaranteed.

Honzek is 3 years younger...like where was Kerins 3 years ago? No that I am cheering against Kerins I hope he does great obviously if its a tie goes to Honzek though IMO.

I think Honzek would do better with the Zary treatment this year. Send him down and if he wants it enough he can fight for his call-up.
