Can't say I watched many eastern conference games last year, and especially no islanders games. I had no idea Dobson was worth 9.5 a year, but I honestly haven't paid any attention to the islanders.

70 point season in 23/34, 29 points last year in 24/25 in 71 games. Average TOI was 23 minutes a game , and a -16 on the year (on a crappy team). He is young though, 25.

With costs rising I guess 9.5 a year (so equal pay to Darnell Nurse, lol) is high but it isn't the ceiling anymore. Just seems like a lot, but I have basically been living under a rock in terms of many Eastern conference teams.
