I’m starting to think canes might get swept and being 0-16 in ECF since 2006 could be one of the craziest stats out there .

I was just about to type something similar, the more I watch Benny in this playoff, the more I hate Treliving.

Let’s be fair. Benny had plenty of opportunities and did not show much consistently here.

Now, now...lets not let 'reason' get in the way of a good grudge!

I think he would have done much better under Sutter than he did under previous coaches. He never got that chance.

Holy crap, this again?

“Great playoffs Benny. This year we are thinking … 4C or 3W”

lol

Don’t even get me started

There were long threads where people made the case supported by tons of data. And now that they were proven entirely correct, we are going back to defend the Flames side of mismanaging him?

Agree 100% and that, is on Treliving for hiring previous coaches. Also, some players need a little bit more time to mature to the level of expectation.

Even under Sutter. His most common linemates that year in Calgary were Gaudreau and Monahan. He played 100 minutes with Monahan and Gaudreau and they got 4 goals with one against. He played 63 minutes with Huberdeau and Duclair and they got 8 goals. And way better fancy stats.

I think the trade shook him into better play for whatever reason.

Great playoffs? Yeah sorry we need someone who can show up for more than six games a year. Flames needed a player who could get them to the playoffs.

If Benny was a first line player in Calgary, he would’ve been a first line player in Calgary.

Love the guy but he is not the same player in Florida that he was in Calgary. Not even close. He’s not the first and he won’t be the last. We’ve been on the winning side of many of those trades and we’ve been on the losing side of a few of them too.

Anyone who thinks that he would be the exact same player with the flames that they see with the Panthers is just dreaming. There are a million things that can go right or wrong and affect how players career develops. Assuming that everything would’ve turned out identical if we would’ve kept him here and just gifted him first line minutes is a fool’s errand.

Did a panther leave the game? I caught something on panthers radio (on 960) about Aho taking out a Panther with a low hit. Panthers radio guys called it questionable, but they seem a bit biased.

Nice straw man

The case was dead simple.

This guy has potential. He is being mismanaged by the Flames and will never realize it being bounced in a bottom 6 blender by some buffoon.

So he goes to Florida, they give him a role, deploy him with consistent line mates, and they profit

This is not rocket science

Imagine how bold they would have to be, to put their highest ever pick in a position to succeed lol

Geez you guys

Yes. He appears to have potentially blown out Reinhart’s knee with a low hit

Not expecting him to be exactly the same in Calgary as Florida.

But anyone who thinks he got every opportunity here to succeed as he should have got, is fooling themselves.

Looking like the Panthers will have plenty of time to rest Reinhart at this rate

One more time. His largest amount of time in his last half year in Calgary was with the top line. He didn’t show well.

He did bounce around, but ask yourself why. Was it because the team intentionally didn’t want their highest ever draft pick to do well?
