Any word on Sharangovich? He went down awkwardly in the 3rd period of last nights game. Don’t think he finished the game. Might have just been a precaution.

I hope you're right, but I just don't see it. If he winds up being more than Duehr 2.2 I'll be pleasantly surprised. He brings a needed element to the mix on this roster, but I don't see his ceiling being above bottom six forward.

I'll be completely unsurprised if Pelletier gets waived. But from a risk mitigation perspective, I could see starting with 14F on the roster while they continue to look for an interested party for Pelletier, or he somehow shows much, more this go round than he has previously.

I was wondering that myself. Perhaps we see him on IR for opening night, freeing up a spot?

I hope not . Still hoping this team will surprise me and make a run for the playoffs. Granted I still think they finish bottom 5

But be honest. Who would be interested in Pelletier at this point? Every team has their own Pelletier(s). Why would they pick up ours and have to keep in on the NHL roster? At this point he’s not an NHL player. Numerous prospects in our system have passed him.

I know this one gets debated quite a bit. But honest question why would anyone pick him up. What has he shown at the NHL level that would favour it. Other than just taking a roll of the dice on a former first rounder.

I agree, I'd expect very little interest in Pelletier and next to no risk in waiving him. But if you can make a move at no cost that reduces a small risk (say it's even as low as 5%) to zero risk, I don't see why you wouldn't.

The guys on the Fan were saying that the Wranglers already have 8D so sending Hanley down causes a huge logjam there. Seems a weak rationale for icing less than the main club's best roster.

That's what the Rapid City Rush are for.

Makes the Barrie signing seem less necessary.

It does feel like the Flames have some loose ends though. Wonder if there might be a few small trades. Doubt anyone would want our loose ends though and wouldn’t really clean anything up if we were bringing someone back.

Preseason is over for the Flames and the final opening night rosters need to be submitted by 3:00pm MT on Monday.

Right now, they still have 27 players in camp and will need to make 4 cuts to get to the 23 man roster.

Coronato, Honzek, Klapka, and Wolf are waiver-exempt. Schwindt, Cooley, and Pelletier are on two-way contracts but require waivers to be sent down. Everyone else is on a one-way contract and would require waivers.

I agree. They were trying to build it into an issue. They’re also convinced Pelletier is going down, FWIW

No one on waivers today. There will need to be some tomorrow.

I’d guess:

Cooley
Coronato
Hanley
Pelletier or schwindt

Unless Sharongovich is hurt. Then Pelletier or Schwindt cut gets delayed

Looks like Klapka and Honzek made the team. Good for them.

Sure but someone has to go and he is the least value

I mean I may waive Pelletier but I like to have one more look in real games. I won’t hold my breath but who knows

I doubt it, Rooney is the 4th line center. I don't see anyone that's going to take that role (as of yet)
