Honzek - you can tell he benefits from a more structured game. I really like his positioning. He is a low event player, but I don't think that's a bad thing

Gridin- he is dangerous with the puck. Lots of offense. He forces passes a little toomuch but that could be a familiarity issue.

Parekh - wow is that guy skilled. 100% a player you want holding the puck. A few defensive warts but his skating and hockey sense should make short work of that.

Morin - not as skilled as Brz or Parekh but damn is this kid a 200ft guy. Great plays both sides of the ice. Great first pass.

Ciona - love everything about this guy. All heart. A killer forechecker, a tenacious back check. 4th liner, but a dog!

Mews, Battaliga, Misa, Basha - Heaps of skill. That said, they are not ready to play against men.

Ignatjew - played great again.

Liang - a project player, great size, good iq, needs to skate better

Lipinski- I really love his habits, but his stride is not NHL calibre.

Number of good players.

Basha, brzutewics????, Parekh, Ignatijew, Grushnikov, Ciona

Those would be my top picks.

Definitely has a knack for getting his shots through

Gridin was the best of our players tonight imo.

There should be a cap on AHL games played in this tourney. It shouldn’t be for 23 or 24 year olds unless they’re fresh out of college.

Tournament is to showcase the skill of your prospects. It’s really not about playing structured hockey.

It’s also pathetic they bring in 30 year old AHL players.

It's kind of good that someone does. Give them a challenge and a better idea of what to expect at main camp.

Honzek acquitted himself quite well.

I see how he can be maddening at times... you think he's invisible... then bang, he's on the scoresheet.

Missed the game. Who stood out the most? Nice to see Zayne and Honzek got goals

Really like the look of these prospects. Seems like a good mix of players. Feels like the flames have quite a few players with size and speed along with some decent offensive ability. Great to see that early on in the rebuild as those players can take a while to re ch their potential. Having in them in the system early hopefully means at least a couple of them develop to be NHLers that can compliment the core forwards of the team that are still going to be drafted over the next few drafts.

I don't mind Van brining their AHL team. Let's the players who were just drafted see the difference between leagues.

Something tells me Sam Morton is going to make a hell of a case to earn a spot in preseason. Not saying he'll get it right away, but won't be surprised to see him make the NHL roster this season.

Both he and Gridin have a finishing ability that is hard to teach. When they get a chance, they don't miss.

It reminds me of the Sutter quote, "give me a team of Ronnie sterns, and I'll win the cup".

100%. This is the guy I walked away thinking that has a chance to make the big team out of camp. Even if he doesn't make it I think he will be first forward called up. I think a few of these kids could be regulars by season end but Morton looks ready now.
