I thought he assembled a pretty good Hawks power team. That said, they didn't win anything after he had to pay Kane, Towes, Keith, and Seabrook.

I thought they lucked out on Panarin, but totally messed up the trade.

His last trades:
Zadorov for a 3rd was even

Tyler Johnson + 2nd for Seabrook's contract was a loss IMO, but probably saved them some money.

Seth Jones + 1st(#32) in 21' + 6th for Boqvist + 1st(#12) in 21' + 2nd(#44) in 21' + 1st(#6) in 22'. That's a huge loss! Compounded by the contract given to Jones.

Caleb Jones + 3rd for Keith + Soderlund that's a win.

2nd + 3rd for Janmark(50%) + DeSimone is another win.

So I guess he did well on the marginal trades but really failed the big trades with Saad(for Panarin) and Jones.

I look forward to him completely messing up a Draisaitl trade.

Bravo to Stang (and others) for maintaining his word. It can't be easy, especially after being a lifelong fan.
I suspect that, by October, all will be forgotten. And forgiven.

Just a thought I have. What IF, as a person playing for the Oilers, you have been raised in a moral and decent family. The team continues bringing in these horrible people and you sit by and say nothing. Then you reach the time to sign a big contract but tell the team you are going to wait and see how the season goes first.

I don't know but let's use Draisatl as this player. At the end of the year you still haven't signed and on July 1 you publicly announce to the Oilers and other teams that you have decided to move away from the club because they don't have any moral standards and you would feel more comfortable somewhere else.

How would the fan base feel at that time when one of the stars has taken this time to make a very loud statement?

The craziest thing to me is that the Oilers aren't even gonna be dealing with this PR nightmare over a GM that is actually good. But Oil are gonna Oil

An Oiler fan I used to work with claimed he was done after they lost to San Jose last November. Come February he's accusing the Flames of misconduct over the Dube incident and how they should be banned from the league. I wonder what he's thinking today.

People have short attention spans. By October most people will forget all this and be wondering about other things.

God the sickening spin by Hrudey and Freedman and all the pundit sycophants of that team will be turning cartwheels to endorse the move. Gross.

At least their young prospects can be comfortable knowing the organization will take care of them ……….

That term is far too generous and without any basis in fact for at least three of them. And even I may be too generous saying that.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Oilers went on to hire Gary Glitter to produce their in-game entertainment.

Imagine being Draisaitl. If he wanted to leave anyway he can now request a trade on principle, get out of somewhere he wanted out of anyway, and get applause from 90% of the league.

In Edmonton for sure but when he's home in Ontario for the summer he may face the occasional microphone that's not bought and paid for by Katz.

I have a hard time believing they were in on it as neither remotely has the knowledge or qualifications to know who would be the best man for the job as all these guys know is playing and practicing. I believe it's possible they have some input on head coach hire but not GM. I'm sure they were both given the heads up that the hiring was going to happen.

I wonder how I would feel as a parent of an 18 year old drafted by a team that employs alleged perpetrators of sexual assault, those who have dismissed and ignored it happening under them, and also those who oversaw the cover up of crimes and pay off of assault victims.

Quite a collection they have up there.

Jackson specifically said that he didn't consult with any of the players.

Never change, Oilers!

Looking forward to Bowman announcing the signing of Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote and Dillon Dube.
