I don’t think our arena will be dated at all.
Any futuristic designs are likely never to happen again. We are seeing first hand what a different concept can do.
You’re probably just going to see some variation of the same designs. The only time you see something different is when it’s privately funded.

Any clues or knowledge about whether the new one will feature the inverted bowl design? From the wiki page on the Calgary Event Centre:
“On July 26, 2021, the city announced the cost of the arena had gone from $550 million to $608.5 million. The arena was planned on an inverted bowl design which may not have worked on that particular piece of land and would have been bad for accessibility. As the engineers got further into design work, they realized there were some other potential problems.”

I’d like to know what these next gen arena designs are that we’re gonna miss out on.
Tshirt cannons that can hit every seat in the building like the new Clippers arena? What a boondoggle if we drop the ball on that one.
Maybe if we doubled our budget, we too could enjoy such a luxurious feature.

It's like the Sphere in Vegas, but mobile. You can roll it from place to place whenever you want to relocate your franchise.
They call it the Hamster Ball.

Intuit Dome cost is around $2b USD. Eye-watering.

The only thing I know about Intuit Dome is that I'm being outrageously over-charged for my Tax and Bookkeeping software and am going to demand a discount this year.

Said no one, ever, when they were required to be compliant with the tax code.

Have you seen the size of that document? The cure for cancer could be in there for all we know and nobody would ever know it.
It is so hefty I could bludgeon a man to death with it.
It is a very sizable Tome.
It is literally a weapon.

Get on the next thing. It won't matter though, ownership just needs to slightly impress the public with renderings while not caring at all as they get their much larger revenue streams simply from having a new building.

I can tell you that what’s released today will be close to what the final product will be. I’m hoping for several interior and exterior renderings.
Given this is a construction management contract, the value engineering should be complete by now, or the majority of it at least.
