Where's the pic of the grumpy cat saying "Good!"?
I sure hope that greasy weasel Jamie Benn isn't too rough on Connor, that would be mean.

At worst he's probably having a nagging minor issue like 80% of guys in playoffs are nursing.
I think he's outright just having a subpar season and reverting to his early career cherry picking ways but the intensity of playoffs isn't lending itself to as much success for him since he a lost dog in the d-zone so he has to wait for PPs to rack up points.

Having the Oilers this far in the playoffs makes me sick to my stomach.

Even if he is, the Oilers will still play him 30 minutes/night because it’s their only play. His injury will get worse as a result, the Oilers will get swept, and then the media will use it as an excuse for why the Oilers couldn’t get it done. They’ll all say that the Cup favourite Oilers were robbed of their destiny.

I don't think he's hurt. He's just worn down from all the diving.

This is just the Oilers getting ahead with the excuses on why they got destroyed by Dallas. McDavid was hurt, Leon was hurt, Kane was hurt, somebody stole Bouchard's dog, etc ...

And saving his energy for all the diving he has to do against Dallas.
But apparently penalties drop after round 2 so good luck with that Mr Olympics.

Cup or bust, Vancouver busted...Oilers turn

This is always a quick litmus test for the 'house money' argument...
VAN has no 1st and 2nd this year. In 2021 they didn't have a1st, in 2022 they didn't have a 2nd, and in 2023 they didn't have a 2nd. In 4 years, they will have had 3 picks in the first two rounds.
EDM has no 1st, 3rd or 4th. They will pick 61st, then won't pick again until the 150s. Last year, they had one pick (#56) in the first 150. And the year before, they had one pick (#32) in the first 150. So in 3 years, they will have 3 picks inside the top 150. In 5 years, they will have 6 picks in the top 100.
The Flames will have 6 picks in the top 100 THIS YEAR.
House money, LOL

What good is cap space going to do for us next year if we don't use it to buy picks?
Tanev probably had Edmonton on his no-trade list, but Colorado too? I suppose it's possible but I can't imagine why he wouldn't want to go there.
Maybe the scouts really love Grushnikov; I hope so.
|
Grushnikov + 2nd >> late 1st (now 29th) and a cap dump
And when DAL eliminates the Oil, you can add a 3rd to that

If the organization is leaning on their star player and putting him out there 30+ minutes a night, while injured, then they are even dumber than I thought. And that's sayin' something!

The oilers PP is ice cold. The teams have figured it out. I mean, even Bieksa has figured it out.
I dont need to look but I already can guess that the coil have the least 5 on 5 goals in the playoffs thus far. Their PP really carried them early.

Injured or not, McDavid must be physically and mentally exhausted. The amount of hockey, practice, training, media, and other extra stuff required for him is off the charts. Sportsnet, TSN and other media and fans have these guys in a different level request wise in Canada. He's like a Mathews but a light version in some ways. Throw in Edmonton weather and travel and it's wild.
Edmonton has essentially been playing really intense hockey trying to get into the playoffs and relying on McDavid for so much for so long. People in Edmonton may disagree but he is still human.

I actually think TMZ Frank is in fact not from Philly (where is the accent?) I think hes from Leduc to be honest and his constant pom pom waving on calgary radio is gross.
Head and Heart line up on this one, cant see how it makes it past 5 for Dallas.

They actually have the most 5 on 5 goals but you already knew that and this is just another troll post from you.

All that effort designing and winning the skills competition was the extra that pushed him over the edge.

Don't forget Nurse's "I just want everyone to know I was playing with an injured ...." like he did when they got swept by Colorado.

It’s been suspected since early in the season he’s had some sort of arm, wrist or shoulder issue. He has passed off so many shots this year it’s been quite noticeable. The stats back that up too.
In 21/22 he had 314 sog, 5th in the league. 46 goals and a 14% shooting %.
In 22/23 he had 352 sog, 3rd in the league. 64 goals and a 18% shooting %.
In 23/24 he had 263 sog, 25th in the league. 32 goals and a 12% shooting %.
It’s a pretty substantial drop the entire season and certainly not reflective of him cherry picking(this year was his best plus/minus too). He has just continually passed away the puck at weird times.
