So long and thanks for all the fish Ruzicka. Good luck on your next team.

DeSimone? Happy trails.

Not upset in the least. Roz plateaud here and wasn't taking off. We got good service numbers out of him as a 4th round pick.

DeSimone IMO was a farm hand who got a good shot and deserved his waiver claim as a serviceable replacement player.

It's weird how some of y'all are still butthurt about Valimaki doing pretty good on another team.
He has one goal and six assists, the stats are the stats...and he has been healthy scratched. Not sure why you can't admit to being wrong. He was good last year, not so much this year. I doubt they even re sign him.

Rosie would have been sent to the AHL and not re signed as an RFA. So the only loss is to the Wranglers

I think it is a shame that either of them were claimed. Ruzicka definitely had moments and has shown the ability to do well. With the Flames' depth (and probable trades), Desimone will probably be missed too.

Both will be missed, but neither of them are earth-shattering mistakes. I bet Conroy would have liked to sneak both of them down and then back up, but nothing to keep him awake at night with either.

More opportunity for others it the outcome of this.

The news says he was a healthy scratch.

https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/arizon...oyotes-victory

If it was injury-related why would his team throw him under the bus and say he was a healthy scratch I wonder?

I'm sure there'll be incoming players before the end of the season. Stay tuned.

This is honestly the biggest disappointment. All that great meme/gif potential just wasted away.

It's also a breathe of fresh air to have GM that can walk away from players instead of falling in love with them like the last guy.

I don't like either. Both make dumb plays. Oesterle should be waived too.

That is a hilarious statement coming this site's biggest homer who is often incorrect.

Valimaki plays most of his TOI with Dumba and Stecher. He is tied with Stecher for 4th amongst D in ATOI. His advanced stats and xG show his as their 4/5.

There's nothing to dispute about Valimaki not being a 4/5 defenseman this season on a team that's over 0.500

Healthy scratch might dispute it, their team sucks too...not sure what your point is

you called him found "GOLD" he has one goal and has been a healthy scratch. You were obviously basing it on last season...move on. Like they probably won't even re sign him they love him so much but okay. GOLD

Switching to personal insults is often a sure sign you have lost the "debate" on the facts

Replacement level players. Whatever. Both were just 'ok', not big losses at all.

Valimaki was so good last year at a salary of $1,550,000, the Coyotes re-signed him for $1,000,000. Any other team could have signed him to an offer sheet up to $1,356,540 with zero compensation, but nobody did.

Now I must go away and cry a river over this valuable wasted asset.

With the benefit of hindsight and NJ lacking D it would have been nice to waive Oesterle first to see if he got claimed. If he goes unclaimed you could have kept him up and then waived Desimone afterwards. Not a big deal either way, I've just preferred Desimone's play.

Neither really did anything of note here. Want players who contribute in a positive way, so the open spots are the benefit.

We're not "losing players for nothing" because nobody was going to trade for these guys.
