Pretty awful period from the Flames. No offense, and two blown coverages leading to goals against. Just a lackluster effort overall.

Not a lot to like about the way that this team is playing heading into the regular season. Looks an awful lot like the team from last year.

To be fair I turned around to look at the TV at the last moment, seeing Markstrom being scored on. I have no idea what happened before that. If it's Oilers defense tonight, that makes me sad.

I have very similar thoughts, but I also think that’s the plan. Huska (and Conroy) believe that last year was just a down year due to some players not playing up to the level they can. So outside of the defensive shift to zone (which plenty of teams are doing by the sounds of it), I expect things to be very similar. Question is…can we win a handful of those one goal games that we lost last season?
Goaltending needs to sort itself out though. It can’t be as bad as it was last season.

I will not worry about it until the games count. I have always touted I think Huska is a well spoken but mediocre coach. I really want him to prove me wrong, big time.
