Ya a ton of variable to consider when manning a fire boat, largely cost especially for municipalities the size of Lahaina (13,000 people). Range is great but the shoreline extends so far for so many beaches that range is rendered useless. Not to mention pumping saltwater is a lot different than freshwater. Training firefighters, maintenance, mooring and associated infrastructure would be a major cost. Of course the entire community is gone but I am skeptical of how much could be saved in that community for that fire with a fire boat.

Its tough to see through all the smoke.

…I am wondering the best route through/around everything though… quietly… to myself.

Do you still have your f-150? I have a white one, an orange high-vis vest and a hardhat. I can go literally anywhere in that get up. Just give 'er.

Lol, BC is supposed to be a bunch of leftist flakes and hipsters, and it's on fire, but you can't keep the Alberta tourists away!

Fires aside, imagine Canadians wanting to vacation in Canada. We're so lame!

It's all good. Obviously fooling round, but it is a truism that you just can't stifle an Albertan's appetite for BC.
As a transplant myself, I know the feeling.

I mean you can be both a) concerned for those that lost their homes and b) sad that your vacation plans have just gone up in smoke at the same time, no?

Watching The Morning Show on Apple TV the episode where they’re covering the California wildfires. It’d eerie seeing the hills ablaze given what’s happening these days.

Ya, shame on me for following the urging of government during a catastrophe.

Hopefully we can slide it to early September.

I know the local businesses will accept our dollars and be thankful we didn't stay away as they did during COVID and the Nk Mip fire.
