This is a bit of a joke, team refuses to bring in fresh ideas or style. Decade of darkness begins
We have no idea if Conroy has had several ideas and things he wanted to try that Treliving disagreed with. God forbid an organization develop and promote someone from within. Connie’s hard work has paid off with an opportunity he spent more than a decade trying to earn.
I guess some people always think the grass is greener.

I generally don't understand how a fan could hate the hiring of Craig Conroy. We have zero understanding of his capabilities at this time.
By comparison, we know what Dave Nonis, Stan Bowman, Marc Bergervin, John Chayka are capable of as NHL general managers.
So those lusting for one of the "proven" General Managers are whacko in my eyes, while those placing other AGMs on pedestals are falling victim to a "the grass is always greener" mentality. Unless of course someone has put together information comparing Eric Tulsky's day to day accomplishments and Craig Conroy's day to day accomplishments...then perhaps we can start comparing the two.

I recall a Conroy interview where he mentioned how tree conducted his business, where he said tree would sequesterhimself and work by himself and Conroy admitted it wasn't how he'd do it.
My point being, I don't think we are going to see a Tree clone or someone who capitulates to pressures from up top. I expect to see him as GM utilize everything available to him. Now we just have to wait and see who he brings in for that purpose.
He was my guy from day 1, glad it is him. Now I don't have to trick my brain and convince myself other outside GMs would be interesting.

I could see the Flames ownership wanting Conny to have a veteran guy to come in as AGM to help him…personally I think that, between Pascall and Maloney, that they are well covered in that area but I wouldn’t put it past them bringing someone on board…just not Stan ####ing Bowman.

Maloney can oversee. That role already exists.
The Flames will not hire somebody like Bowman as an AGM with Conroy as GM. The optics of already hiring the replacement are not good.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!

Naw, most are the usual negativity crowd that thrive off things going wrong. They only follow the team so they can whine and complain. Unfortunately, the Flames tend to give them plenty to gleefully come on here and try and drag the community down.
