Actually, for most of this season this team didnt have Nick Ritchie or Troy Stecher who account for 1G and a primary assist.
Clearly they were the missing pieces to drive this team to glory.
And the lines tonight...they are almost identical to the lines that Sutter has played all season.

This will sound like nitpicking on an otherwise very good game from the flames, but I've noticed 3 times tonight and many times before something odd.
The flames defencemen while transitioning from defending to the breakout are sending hard passes to players still skating towards their defending zone. Every time this happens we give the other team time to set up their defense instead of a quick counter attack. Just a very strange play to pass to forwards with negative forward momentum.

Such a great point; Weegar gets called out for the ‘eye-test’ all the time because he occasionally gets exposed; the position he plays doesn’t give his elite surpression statistics and abilities any justice through the eye-test and as such he’s criminally underrated here so far. Really excited to see what comfortable Weegar looks like as he gets more games in with the Flames, it was probably the most laughable of all the rumours this year when Pagotta said the Flames were considering flipping him.
