I think it's where they are playing guys and who the puck is going through.
The PP should be going through Huberdeau...but it tends to be run through Kadri, Toffoli, and Andersson. Too often it feels like Kadri, Toffoli, and Anderson play on the left side halfboards while Huberdeau is wasted on the RW halfboards.
Also Lindholm as the net front seems like a bit of a waste.
IMO Kadri shouldn't be playing the halfboards, he was bumper on the 7th best PP in the league last year.
Huberdeau should be running the PP from where Kadri seems to be right now, left wing half boards. That's where he was on the 5th best PP in the league last year in Florida.
I think they want Huberdeau on the RW to try to feed one times to the RH shots of Andersson and Toffoli but they never set up on that RW and tend to set up and keep the puck on the LW.
With Andersson, Lindholm, and Toffoli all on the first unit they almost have too man RH shots on that unit. If they want to go 1-3-1 then go:
Dube
Huberdeau-Kadri -Lindholm
Andersson
Mangiapane
Backlund - Ruzicka - Toffoli
Weegar
IMO that gives the best balance of RH - LH shots on each unit and gives us a one timer threat on each unit with Toffoli and Lindholm.
You should. Then you can get super angry too when Rasmus passes 95% of the time from the point.
The isles weren’t even letting Calgary set up. Calgary’s weakness on the power play has been their peripheral play. They weren’t even getting that far against the Islles. Because the Isles have a good PK, at least tonight.
