It's mad. They actually bucked that trend that plagues so many artists.
Usually bands of that era put out their best work in the their first 2 or 3 albums and then see a steady decline in quality and lose the "it" factor that made them great and comebacks tend to generally be soulless and quickly forgotten.
Somehow they pulled an inspired album out of nowhere on their second comeback. Guess Mark's cancer scare got them to set aside their differences finally and collaborate on the music and it's evident.

Totally, I'm blown away with with this album. "Dance with me" is their best single in 22 years, imo. I also love that they took a boxcar racer song and made it a blink song.

I feel like we got the album we should have got when Neighborhoods came out. That album has a few okay songs but is largely disjointed and phoned in.
This album feels totally different. It feels like the proper and natural progression of the Untitled album. Blink Wave is my personal favourite song on the album and I think it's a way better blend of Tom's Angels & Airwaves sound and a blink sound than the Frankenstein mashups we got on Neighborhoods.
But also, yes this album is just incredible. Dance with me is just full of energy. I really love what Travis Barker did with it, he's becoming elite in terms of producing.
It's just such an enjoyable listen through from start to finish. So easy to blaze right through it and feel emotions along the way.
I think the way the album is compiled elevates the individual tracks that came out as singles that initially didn't make sense on their own.
Like I've come all the way around on Fell in Love and then some, and it flows so well immediately following Dance With Me.
More Than You Know was good to start but it turns out also had growth potential going for it and now it's just a monster track that encapsulates the intensity of Untitled but with maturer lyrics.
And yes Blink Wave is a fire track. Tom's vocals on the chorus with the 80s synthwave is perfection, like I didnt know was possible. They experimented and struck gold with that one. Or at least perfected what Tom was trying to do with some ava.
Travis did overdo the autotune/melodyne, and I kind of wish the doubled vocal tracks had some organic variation instead of being so robotically in time because I think it would sound better, but I can let it go because the songwriting more than makes up for those nit picks.
Guys, start a Blink 182 thread so you can take off your pants and jacket to them over there. I check this thread to see what DownInFlames is recommending and you keeping bumping it with this NONSENSE!

I prefer it when there’s actual discussion in this thread instead of just me posting videos. But, knowing you, that could be your point. My sarcasm detector is buzzing.
I do think it’s kinda weird how over the top their praise is for the new Blink album, however. Authentic? Really?

I think the Blink this is the same as how I feel about Maiden. Their sound is so distinct that if you like their old stuff, their new stuff is going to sound like a well produced version of that formula.

I was joking (I don’t care if people talk about Blink, though it sounded really average to me so I definitely don’t “get it” but that’s just music for you) but I wasn’t being sarcastic.
I really do check this thread out almost solely to see what you’re posting lol. I don’t like everything you’re into, but you’re good for a gem now and then and some of it is stuff I wouldn’t have found otherwise. So, thanks!

Yeah, I appreciate the DowninFlames recommendations as well. Likewise, I hit play on a lot of his stuff and think it's so bland that I can't even remember it enough to forget it, and then other times I add the song to spotify and smile when it comes on.

I’d be shocked if anyone liked everything I posted. I don’t even like it all. Sometimes I share music I think others will like.
I do agree that the new Blink sounds a lot like their earlier stuff, if that’s what you meant by authentic. I’m not as big of a fan as I used to be but there’s no doubt that the original lineup is best.
1. Cheshire Cat
2. Dude Ranch
3. Enema of the State
Songs.
1. Family Reunion
2. Ben Wah Balls
3. Dysentery Gary
Have you heard the demo version of EOTS?
Somehow I didn't hear it until a week ago and it's essentially Enema with Cheshire Cat/Dude Ranch production. Very raw as you'd expect with a demo, but it made some songs better for the old school crowd.
There's a version of Mutt with Scott Raynor on drums and IMHO it's superior to the album version.
