Man we must read different hockey "news" sites because I can't recall reading about any of that in at least the last year on any reputable site (outside of the hockey canada and Chicago Blackhawk stuff which should have been released publicly of course)

It takes a very impressive level of self-centered oblivion to not realize that this is most likely a very unique and serious situation that does not require your immediate attention.

Well wake us up when Kylington does anything similar or gets accused of sexual assault. Not remotely close to the same lol

Embarrassing posts by BoLevi. Ollie will be back when he’s ready. If the organization respects his privacy to not tell us what he’s going through then we as fans should respect that as well

They haven't had a reason to put him on LTIR and the longer they hold off the more cap space they actually get when he goes on LTIR. LTIR doesn't really give a team more cap space, it lets them overspend by that player's cap space. Flames haven't really needed it so no advantage to placing him on it. It is like Yamamoto being retroactively placed on IR by the Oilers

He can go on LTIR and we'll get the relief in full at any time right?

I wonder if the internal deadline for the Flames is the all star break. You gotta figure it will take him a month when he returns to get back to game speed at least.
Maybe we see some roster moves over this break.

What difference does it make to anyone whether or not you know what the issue is?
Sometimes if info gets leaked, depending on what it is, it can have a gigantic impact on a person. Whereas you getting the info is wildly disproportionately beneficial to you relative to how it may impact Kylington.
It’s not like you knowing changes the speed he comes back. So, protecting for whatever reason his privacy is legitimately more important than satisfying your curiosity.

I don't think LTIR would do anything since we are not right pressed against the cap anyway.
I don't think it's fair though, to have a player count against the cap if it turns out that player was unavailable for the whole season. $2.5 million of cap space accruing over the course of the season would allow management to add significant players at the deadline.

As a fan (and STH) it would be nice to have some indication as to whether we might see him back this year, but I get it. His well being and privacy are paramount.
Even if OK was to come back he's been away a long time, although who knows maybe he could get into game shape in a couple weeks.

I wish there is a function when a person is ignored even if some one quote that person his post won't appear.

The purpose of LTIR is to replace players while that player is injured.
It’s not to allow teams to accrue space.
The Flames chose not to add a player as they felt they didn’t need to.

Yeah, I didn't say anything like that. I actually said that LTIR would not work in this case.
What I am saying is that it would be fair if a player who is unavailable to play for a whole season because of person reasons didn't counting against the cap. Nothing to do with LTIR at all. A player can not count against the cap and also not be on LTIR.
I don't see why a non-roster player who isn't injured but takes a year of leave should count against the cap.
