The Flames are at a point where they will either be remembered as the best Flames team in the last two decades or as the Flames team that got upset by the Oilers and didn’t win a thing.
Let’s see which team they want to be. Haven’t inspired much confidence in me thus far. Quit looking like a team that’s happy to be here and start looking like a team that wants to win.

If they have the best advanced stats after losing? No, it doesn’t really matter. But that could just be my opinion. The reply wasn’t designed as some personal shot at you. I’m just saying, what matters is basically securing the win. I know you agree with that too.

Flames win 4-2. Nurse scores on his own net and Lindholm gets a hatty.

Oilers to the NHL: And they can't touch McBaby, and they can't touch Drai, and they can't touch Smith, and they can't touch any Oiler, and we must get a multiple number of PPs in the first half of the game.
God forbid they actually try to win games fairly.

The Oilers flew in Dwayne Rolloson in for the game tonight. It's hard to even come up with the proper words to describe how cringe this fan base is and how obsessed with the past they are. Even the past where they didn't win.
Dwayne Rolloson. Unreal.
Go Flames.

I don't really see the "happy to be here" vibe from this group. They're giving a good effort (aside from last game).
What I see is a team that is at times trying too hard, and is far too often overcommitting to plays instead of checking intelligently and knowing when to lay off a little. They also need to start getting a few of the borderline penalty calls their way early so that they can be the ones to get their offensive mojo going.
If they come out hard, but collected tonight and force the refs to make some of these calls early, they should be able to get back to basics and force the Oilers to start making mistakes while playing catch up. If things don't get going quickly, I would love to see a goalie change early before the score gets out of hand.

That's the thing though.
Nowhere did I suggest the advanced stats say they can't lose, or will win, or that the league is investigating and may over turn the second game because the stats were too far in Calgary's favour.
I like to dig a little deeper than the scoreboard to get an understanding of what's happening.
You can keep it to the score though, not forcing anyone to discuss anything they don't wish to discuss.
But my snark was in response to your snark.

One of the biggest things the Oilers have done well is neutralizing our D-to-D in the offensive zone cycle and used it against us. Our D are typically very active, but the Oilers speed and transition game has not only neutralized our offensive cycle but used it against us to generate scoring chances/draw penalties.
I'm not a coach and don't have the answer to this, but imagine it's better decision making in our offensive zone cycle coupled with a better job by the high forward to not leave the D in as vulnerable spot where they're flat-footed against all world speed.
Couple things that have annoyed me in our cycle is the pass to a semi-covered player in the slot, which is not only turning the puck over but gets them out of our zone with numbers.
Better puck management in the offensive zone is, in my view, the biggest area of improvement to look for in game 4.

Weird choice since he never faced Flames in the playoffs Fuhr or Ranford would make sense.

They need to remember they are the better team and one of the best teams in the league. They've bought into all the McDavid hype a little too much. I suspect they'll have their swagger back tonight. I'd be shocked if it isn't the Flames best effort of the playoffs.

How stupid can an organization be? Talking about dressing room bulletin material. I hope the Flames thumb the Oilers tonight and thumb them hard, so Roloson can witness it in person.

The defence just need to dump it back into the corner, instead of doing anything fancy at the offensive blue line. We have the right mix of players to work the puck down low.

EDIT: Corrected by an Oiler fan! Edmonton had three wins at the inaugural season of Rogers in 2017.

Challenge is sometimes you only send 2 and leave a F high, you can be outnumbered in the down low puck battle
If you send in F3, there is no margin for error as a quick transition can burn you
