I can't remember the last time, if ever, that my entire day has been absolutely consumed by thoughts of the upcoming game. I am stressed. I am excited. I bet way too much money. Drinking has already begun. Let's get to puck drop already!
I was 8 years old in 1981 when the flames went on their run in the first year here. I just remember little snippets of the playoffs, but not specifically game 7 vs Philly.
I do remember them losing to the North Stars and crying as they got eliminated.
And so began my irrational emotional attachment to this team that I still carry 41 years later.
I was also 8 years old in 1981. It's gotta be a good omen. Right?
Btw, crazy to think this could be the last game watching gaudreau as a flame.
Depressing thought. I am sure a playoff series win would go a long way into him re-signing. Tonight's game could have immense implications for the club going forward.

My lovely wife will be wearing this jersey tonight, originally made in 1989 and signed by Colin Patterson and Lanny Mcdonald. It was the same (wayyyyyy oversized) jersey they put me in when the flames won the cup. ####ING WIN THIS
