Flames now 7 points up on 2nd place with a game in hand on both the Oilers and Kings. Edmonton has a much tougher schedule down the stretch as well. I'd say our chances of winning the division are pretty damn good at this point.

The race is over. Not enough runway for anything to change. Which is also the reason why the Canucks are also done despite their streak. Any more than 2-3 points to make up with less than 10 games on teams likely to go over .500 is next to impossible.

Avs could've phoned this game in and it would've changed nothing and meant nothing for them or their season.
Instead they stuck it out to the bitter end and slapped Edmonton at their own game (skills comp).

I don't know what good fans do, but I know that astute fans of the game know that the Oilers didn't fix their inherent goaltending and defense issues overnight just cause we embarrassed them.
Confidence is a hell of a thing.. until it runs out.
