It was a dull game, I would give it a basic 87 octane rating. The other OOT games were of a higher grade. The Ducks-Predators had a 92 octane rating. The others were mid grade.

I am glad I did not listen to much of the Oilers crew.

The doubleheader had both games go to OT. Marchand scored twice including the GWG. He made up for his earlier mistake (a dangerous cross ice pass that was intercepted) which led to Armia's break away SHG. Both teams were perfect on the PK as the Bruins were 0/4 on the PP. Allen had another good game in net for the Habs as he stopped 43 shots. The Habs were lucky to get a point as they were out shot 17-5 in the 3rd period. The Bruins and Leafs are now tied in the eastern conf. just 3 points up on the 8th place Capitals.

MacKinnon scored the GWG over the Oilers. Rantanen with 2 goals. That was the worst possible result for the Flames. The Avs are now 11 points up on the Flames and the Oilers get another point and are 4 points up on the 9th place Stars.

The Wild get the win with Talbot's 28 save SHUTOUT. The Wild are on the rise right now going 5-1-1 in their past 7 games. Deslauriers scores in his first game with the Wild after being traded from the Ducks.

The Predators scored 4 times in the 3rd period. Forsberg had 5 points (2g, 3a) and Duchene with 3 points. Special teams was a big factor in this game with the Predators 3/5 on the PP and 4/4 on the PK. The bright spot for the Ducks, Grant scored twice and has 31 goals this season.

What the hell is Mark Spector writing about?

"Oilers prove they can compete with best in West: 'We're right there'
This was a good sign. A very good sign. The Edmonton Oilers lost a 3-2 overtime game in Colorado on Deadline Day,but that late Nate MacKinnon goal was the only negative on what was one the Oilers’ finest nights of the season. Perhaps their finest."

Mike Smith is not an NHL goalie. Feet on the goal line one on one with MacKinnon…. Yeah that’s how to play the position. Useless.

Just as long as the other team plays sloppy and uninspired hockey. If Colorado played the way they played against the Flames it would have been ugly early.

Lol @ Spector. When the Avs finally decided to show up in the 3rd period and took over the game, they made the Oilers look like an AHL team. Smith was the only reason it went to OT.

And then the Avs went to work again in OT and made the Oilers look ridiculous in under a minute. When Colorado turns it on, there's a pretty big mis-match there. Oilers aren't in the same class.

Hey, if all of the Oilers personnel feel the same way Spector does, good.
