It would give us bragging right for some time.
Sutter's mind games would probably be on full display.

If Flames win division, they’re likely looking at a Central team as WC1. So Nashville or St Louis most likely.
Obviously a lot of time to go. Many things can change. If the flames are playing like this heading into the playoffs, no one and I mean no one will want to play Calgary.

You're right, I forgot about the format.
Avs will run away with #1 in the west and play the second wildcard which means we would likely see Nashville or St Louis.

Loving what we’re seeing from Ruzicka. He’s early in his NHL career but he reminds me of Adam Lowry. Big centre who moves well, is strong on the forecheck, is hard on the puck, and has a heavy shot. I think he could be a difference maker come playoffs.

But he's knocking on that door.

It’s one of the great things about this team right now… there could be arguments made for any of Andersson, Hanifin or Tanev as the #1 defensemen on this team. They are all pretty much playing like one. And right now… Kyllington, Zadorov and even Gudbranson are all playing like a top 4 defenseman. It’s one of the things that is making this team so dominant. Their defence is very strong right now. All of them are putting up points and all of them are shutting down the teams they’re facing.

What people need to understand is that in the 89 season, we expected the Flames to win every game. Expected, not hoped. 1st in GF 1st in GA, #1 powerplay, high PK (can't remember). This current team is approaching these expectations. This team is nothing like, in my opinion, like the team that lost to Colorado. Fun tho. Gfg

Defensive play isn't streaky either. Except for injury, I don't expect much of a drop off from here on out in terms of the defensive side of the d-corps.

Wish we had access to the overhead view, but I really don't think that puck was in before Monahan poked it into the net.
We've seen goals changed days after the fact in the past. Wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being Monahan's first goal since Jan. 24.

I think the correct answer is that we have 4 dmen would be classified as 2/3 and 2 that would be classified as 4/5. I don't think we have a true #1 and I don't think any of our top 6 are incapable of filling a top 4 role.
Honestly that's pretty good and way above average.
