Poor Corey Perry! Big bad Foligno made him fight!
Corey Perry is trash and the players know it. If it was a player with some class they would have let it go. I'm sure amongst NHL players Corey Perry has a reputation. They know what he's like.
In the end I just hope it is nothing serious for Tavares.

This FLAMES board puts up with a lot of other rival fans crap but this isn't a LEAFS board so either expect objective opinions or buzz off to hfleafs.

It is, and yet we don't have much control over how ex-players go out and perform. Easiest route is to be happy for them and consider that we did identify that talent in the first place, so we are doing at least something right.

Really?
They might have identified that talent but failed to exploit it or extract value from it.
So many apologists for Trelivings failures.

This picture perfectly captures the focus of the player on the entire play.
Only thing it needs is fans.

Anyone else think Campbell is nursing a groin injury or something that is making it painful to come across the crease low? Prior to the Byron goal there was a sequence where Anderson (I think) had an almost empty net because Campbell wouldn’t push off and outstretch his left leg and then appeared to get up gingerly. On Byron’s goal he was positioned too far right in his crease and had no ‘push’ to reflexively go left to stop the shot.
Who knows, just me speculating, either way he looks awkward in some situations.

Whatever Perry’s rep, you can’t possibly think he did that on purpose.
Furthermore, You are aware we employ Matthew Tkachuk, right?
Perry is who we hope Matt becomes. Or hoped. I dunno anymore.
Y’know, we brought a 45 year old Jagr in to teach Bennett how to shield the puck, you’d think Tkachuk might gain something from a half season of Perry showing him how to be an MVP caliber troll and an actual MVP at the same time.

That is really too bad for Tavares and the Leafs. Get better soon.

Nope. Never said he did it on purpose. But people saying it was classless and all the other hyperbole have the benefit of seeing the reply 20 times.
Meanwhile the Leaf players just see their teammate collapse to the ice and then being carried off on a stretcher. Emotions are running high. And it's not like they jumped him. Foligno lined up with him and asked to go.
I still wanted Foligno to pound the crap out of him during the fight though.

This kind of reminds me of the Tkachuk incident with Scheifele. Unfortunate collision between a star player and a guy with a reputation for borderline stuff. Glad that he's at home and hopefully he can come back and play if they can get into the 2nd round.

Yep. Especially considering Perry and Tavares are friends. So you accidentally knee your friend in the head, causing what looks like a serious injury. Then you get challenged by his teammate to throw down. Accepting the challenge and getting dummied by Foligno actually elevated Perry in my eyes.

This doesn’t change the fact that a lot of people, myself included, are sick of seeing fights after clean hits/accidental collisions. It’s the most frustrating thing that happens in the league consistently, in my opinion. Just above the #### reffing.
“The leafs didn’t see it, so…. Fight!” No. That makes it even more dumb. Folignos quote makes the fact it happened even more stupid. They have no less than 10 iPads on each bench and watch replays after every shift.

I have a feeling Big Save Dave will make an appearance in the playoffs for the Leafs and that's probably not a good thing because it would mean Andersen couldn't get the job done.

The only concern with Anderson is his physical health. The guy is mentally strong and IMO, he tends to make that big save when you most need it. If the Leafs get him back at 100, they’re easily Canada’s best team and instantly they’re on the same level as any elite team in the league because he elevated them that much. If Colorado had him at 100% they’d win it all no questions asked.
