I suppose I should be more clear - the blade of the stick.

Cross-checking is a whole other thing that I'd also be fine with clarifying, but they tend to be 'stationary' issues (board battles or in front of the net), whereas hooks/slashes more often interfere with players making skill plays.

He wasn't quite Clooney before, but I respect him for sacrificing his face for the game and leaning into the movie villain face.

It is interesting scrolling through old photos...sometimes his schnoz was super prominent, other angles it looks fine.



Looks like he always had a super long nose, but it looked fine on straight-on photos until it got mangled.

However, I've always been fascinated by fact, even back in the day, why it was accepted to totally deride Mike Ricci's looks when the dome used to chant "Ricci's ugly, clap, clap, clap clap clap!" I used to think, "I wonder if this hurts his feelings?" and couldn't partake.

Secondly, if a female athlete was openly mocked for being ugly.... would we be casually OK with it?

For the record, I never understood the Ricci's ugly take either. I think he's a pretty attractive guy in an unconventional way.
