Sutter + that RWer could help things a fair bit.

I hope they can salvage the season, but we may be looking at using the remainder of this one to set up a much better season next year.

I think they needed to make the coaching swap 1-2 weeks ago when they had that underwhelming series with the Canucks.

We're pushing it close in terms of feasibility with the Canucks and Habs playing better. We needed him behind the bench this weekend.

The boys despite coming out the right way were still showing their period to period swings and mental fragility that has overshadowed their game under Ward. You can tell they go with the motions of the game rather than being unaffected in their approach and simply re-setting the tone after something goes wrong.

He was like a buzz saw on the ice. Going into heavy traffic disruting and creating plays. If only we could get Johnny to play like that.

Bennett makes sense, but I wonder if Darryl sees it that way. Putting him on that line may or may not be what he needs to get him going. Dube or Mangiapane could get a look there IMO.

Good things comes to those who wait...We have all endured years and years of disappointment. It will turn one day. We have the right coach coming in, that is for sure.

10-5 by the looks of it.

Problem was the Flames got 9 of those in the 1st and only 1 goal to show for it. 2nd period: 0. 3rd period: 1.

Bad luck on the first 2 goals against I would say, but we deserved to lose ultimately after we stopped generating anything for the last 40.

Oh. I never knew that. Possibly, being it's known that there is such a difference in the jackpot, most will skew towards an oilers 5050. I know myself, I will never buy the flames 5050 when playing the Oilers. Even if the odds are lower.

Agreed. He’s been terrific. He’s been the best forward on the team in my opinion.

I hope he reads Reddit. Francis is really hated over there.

The biggest problem with the Flames is Tkachuk. He’s lost out there. He was supposed to take the reigns from Johnny as Johnny is a good player. Very good offensive player but limited due to his size. You can’t win if he’s your best player. Tkachuk was supposed to take that role for this team. He hasn’t and he right now is no better than Monahan

Lindholm is probably the best player we have right now

“What are you gonna tell Darryl” he chuckles. Such a clown. Like Darryl wasn’t watching and needs to be told.

Nothing outrageous but I found it dumb in the question and in his tone.

EDM, VAN and MTL winning tonight is disastrous for us.

I’m not blaming the goalie, but smith got the win and Markstrom got the loss. One goalie was better than the other tonight, and it wasn’t our guy.

Monahan played hard but again it was apparent he is not the answer at #1 C.

Exactly this. Monahan is a good player, but I wouldn’t consider him the 2nd best centre on the flames at this point. The flames need a #1 centre, or they need monahan to start playing a much more physical brand of hockey. He doesn’t need to crush guys, but he needs to be able to retrieve pucks better than he is now (or maybe ever has?). I don’t see it in him..I hope I’m wrong, but monahan is the player that I don’t think makes cut with sutter coming in.
