The Calgary Flames are a professional ice hockey team based in Calgary. The Flames compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the North Division and are currently owned by Drake Batherson and the Ottawa Senators.
As of this post, yep that's up there.

You gotta think if Ward is turfed...Lucic will be lucid. Could be another fracture in our uninspired team.

I am ok with a tank, this season was always going to be boring without home games to attend. Trade off most of vets that will not be there on the other side. Backlund, Gio, Lucic and perhaps JG if he does not sign. You can’t trade Tkachuk because he is in the youngest group and is just slumping, that makes no sense. Trading the vets will typically have a disproportionate effect on wins and losses. It allows you to retain talent while ending up in a better draft position.

This team needs to rebuild through the draft. We are at where Toronto was at the end of Burke’s tenure there.

Tkachuk, Monahan, 1sts and magic beans for Stutzle and Batherson.

Hey Dorion, you like your Tkachuk right? Like a lot? How does having two sound? I’ll even throw in a former Ottawa 67s for good measure.

Tkachuk and Monahan + for Eichel.

It's probably an overpayment, but you need a transplant at the very core of your core.

Then at the very least you have your bonafide 1C and G locked in. That's a good starting point. But I'd take the reigns away from Treliving to build around those guys.

Classic case if Ward forcing the team to do the wrong things over and over again, and it's finally after 80 games just crushing the players.
Maybe it plays a role. But they are adults, in fact, veteran players, and they requested Ward as a coach. And they are making lazy plays that are beyond any coaching.

Flames need to recoup their losses and re-tool. Get rid of the players who don't want to be here or are declining in value.

Played out exactly as expected. Team thought they were hot ####, forgetting that they’re more like literal hot piles of ####.

What a pathetic team. Can’t wait for expansion.

Markstrom, Kipper, Price, Vezina couldn't save this team. I said it before and I'll say it again, after getting killed by Avalanche, after getting killed by the Stars, goaltending isn't the solution.

You know why I liked Sutter, simply because he instilled the 7-game segments mentality in 2004.

This year is a perfect split image of that mentality, yet this team folds like paper lanterns.

We need a lucid management group, I am indifferent as to whether Lucic is lucid or not.

I think you can win with Gaudreau and Tkachuk on your wings. You definitely can't win with seven NHL forwards in your lineup, though. But Brad's biggest mid-season forward acquisition of his tenure has been Curtis Lazar.

He does not make the necessary adjustments and I would be surprised to see him start.
Scorp dropping the truth bombs.

The GM's unwillingness to trade from the core of the team has got us to where we are today (well that and undervaluing his own draft picks while overvaluing other team's depth players).

I like Treliving's style. He is calm and comes across as thoughtful. But where we are today is not much of a surprise and we've been on this path for three years.

Time for some new hands on the wheel.

It does make sense to move Tkachuk. He only signed a bridge and will be asking way more than he’s worth. There’s a good case to be made he’s hit his ceiling already.

If he doesn't produce he's not going to get paid that much

Tear it down. It's a season overdue, Brad.
