Liking the props here. In fairness, it was a damn good game they played tonight.

The HF Oilers board is...very, very...sexual. The amount of smack talk and/or putdowns that they do that involve sexual acts of some sort would be yet another embarrassment for their fan base, if their fan base understood being embarrassed, I imagine.

That's somewhat disturbing.
So when Katz infamously leaned in with that.... look at Connor on lottery day, he was truly personifying their entire organization and fanbase.

Game Takes:
Flames 5 Bruins 2
- Two goals for Monahan
- Two goals for Backlund after a scuffle with Marchand
- Rittich solid
- both new comers look good, Gustafsson gets a point

In a game vs Vegas last year, Mangiapane deked out Subban for a beauty, and Backlund fooled him with a wrister from far out.

What a beauty effort by backs on that goal. If Mcdingle scored that SN and principe would be praising it for a month.

I am a big fan of Brad Marchand but my oh my was it ever sweet to see Backlund score that one after what Marchand did in the 2nd. Looks good on him.

The first replay Boston showed was perfect.

I wonder what kind of screen they are watching it on in the booth. I've never badmouthed Cassie on here like many do because I'm thankful to not have to listen to Ferraro, Millen, or the brilliant mind of Glenn Healy straining to comprehend the English language like I did a few years ago. But it was a tad annoying this time to hear repeatedly: "It does hit a Flames player" when the first replay showed it was not remotely close to hitting a glove on the Flames' bench.

It says age 25 or younger. Those are their seasons at those ages only.

Just finished watching the game... awesome! Gustafsson and Forbort looked pretty good for their first games.
Like most games, your best players win you games. Johnny, Mony, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Backlund, Rittich were better than Pasta, Bergeron, Marchand, McAvoy, Rask.
Hopefully this continues and we see continued balanced scoring.

Yeah I don't put the blame on Cassie or Rick Ball for that. The guys in charge of choosing the replays picked the worst angles to show what happened definitively. So instead of describing the great effort for the goal, Rick and Cassie have to spend several minutes discussing whether the Flames got away with something.
Meanwhile Boston shows this immediately:
It's the same with SNET's obsession with infographics that cause the viewers to miss a faceoff. The Flames PP goal looked like this on SNET, jumping back to live play mid-action:
https://streamable.com/aoaa0
Just sloppy across the board from SNET I find.
