Caught this great clip of Rinaldo hearing the baffling announcement that his penalty was for an illegal check to the head:

That Anderson zuch clip was great. Love the camaraderie and chemistry between Hrudey and Ball, both were cracking up laughing with comments, gosh I hope we never lose those two for telecasts. Unless it’s Cuthbert and any of the TSN colour analysts occasionally.

I know I am late to the party but Rasmus has stated in an interview at the beginning of this year or last year that he can speak like 5 languages. Norwegian was one. I think it was English, French, Swedish, Norwegian and German(?).
Anywho sorry for the late info! :P

Why are only certain posters allowed to critique the Flames after a win?

Lots of borderline posts about a thoughtful criticism.
And several hilarious ones.

Meh. I don’t know if you’ve heard but Calgarypuck poster AustinL_NHL speaks 14 languages. And he’s only 21!

When I was 21 I was already buying my second helicopter and turning down supermodels and celebrities at exclusive Manhattan parties.

while I agree that's not a proud number for 93 I think a partial explanation (I was at the game and frankly the whole line seemed to be getting their heads caved in - proportion blame as you see fit- so I was watching them come on and off the ice quite closely (mostly hoping to see them heading off the ice) and there were at least 2 instances when Rinaldo took extended shifts- one where he and someone else (can't remember if that was 77 or 93) missed a pretty easy chance at a line change, then got caught on an icing, then they got it out, the other guy changed and Rinaldo took at least half of another shift with the other line)
anyways as I was saying I think everyone might have their different whipping boy of the three, but as a group they don't seem to offer much of anything together so I hope I don't see that trio again soon

Game Takes:
Flames 2 Wild 1
- Talbot stops 41 shots for the win
- Calgary a little lucky to eek this one out
- Gaudreau and Ryan the goal scorers
- Andersson goes Boom!

The result of the game shouldn't matter. Play better than the other team and you'll win more than they lose. Coaching should be focused on the effort and execution and not the result.
Every win is people creaming their pants and every loss is everyone wanting to trade and fire all the staff. God forbid Austin brings some levelheadedness to a thread.

The ridicule for the constructive criticism is odd. Yes, the team won (a win is a win), but it's okay to say that the team still have work to improve on. The team won only scoring two goals, making the margin for error very low.
It's great that the team won again, and it's even better that it's now a 4 game winning streak, but acknowledging the team still needs to do better is okay. This is back-to-back 2-1 wins. Normally, scoring only 2 goals means you're the losing team. Team really needs to address it's 3rd worst in the league even strength scoring problem.

Good to get a home win again. Was the perfect game to have on the tv, sit by the fire, get the switch out, and then not really watch.
I really like Rasmus. Next jersey for sure.

The PGT is overwhelmingly about funny gifs and celebrating a win. When people come in with their "constructive criticism" it harshes the buzz.
If I was King of the World, I would have one of two options:
1. a moratorium on negative posts for the first two pages (120 posts for the Luddites out there) or,
2. a separate piss party thread for all the superior hockey intellects to tell us why the win we just saw was actually not very good and we should all feel bad that we struggle with just one language and have only been to one country in the last 11 seconds.

Flames were really lucky to win. They played awful defensively and need a better effort on Saturday.

This really is the root of it. Nobody is fooled into thinking they are an elite team right now. Not when they allow so many shots/chances per game but let us enjoy the ####ing win please. It's a tight race and every win is huge the rest of the way.
