Taking a while to get to 5000

Neal and Peters had a pretty animated chat this morning. I would be stunned if the end result isn't Neal sitting the next game.

It was a terrible call. And it did give the Avs a big advantage.
But...........it's adversity. It's the playoffs. Suck it up and do something about it. Come back and score a goal. Take the play to them. Don't wilt.
The reffing was terrible and is a legit concern, but not as a big concern as how the Flames reacted. They just gave up. That's the bigger story.
I hope behind closed doors the coaches and players are being more realistic. They're reason they're down in this series is because of themselves. Look in the mirror and figure it out. Don't just give up, that's so lame.

All time walk of shame back to the car...
On a positive note, being a couple rows above Smith for two periods, did provide me a good look at a lot of action.
Also really happy I choose to not bring my 13year old son (made him go to hockey practice instead). So there’s that.
I still Billeave.

This. This is how you get a player off their game. You harass them. You shadow them. You hit them at every opportunity.

Poor excuse. Disappointing answer. You had 50 minutes after that 5 on 3 to play a hockey game.

Yup, the Flames are being outskated badly. There's no downside to seeing him play game 4.
The same roster won't cut it.

You can't do that when you have the speed MacKinnon posses. He'll just fly right by you before you even have a chance to harass/abuse/hit him.

Interesting that so far only gio, smith and hamonic have talked with the media.
Gaudreau should be absolutely embarrased at his effort defensively in the 3rd.
Lost a lot of admiration from the guy tonight. Hoping he has a huge bounce back wed.

They don't need to dump the puck in because every time they transition it's an odd man rush.

Gio said the players were trying to get goals back on one shift after falling behind 2-0

Game one Flames win the draws, first to the puck and they control the game. Games two and three Avs arriving first to the puck, and winning puck battles, they win. Flames need to flip that script and the Avs will look mortal again. Pointing out weak spots is natural, but I'm sure Peters will have the guys focused on the task at hand before game four.

As much as I dislike Neal's apparent uselessness, the guy had some good hits and ended with 7, and didn't make one truly bad play all night. Benching him doesn't really address the issue (that he is a finisher, not a playmaker).
I will keep beating the Czarnik/(Gaudreau)-Bennett-Neal drum until the end of time. Get him away from Janko.

Agreed, although I think the Flames were the better overall team in Game 1, just 4-0 Flattered the Flames. The AVS have been the much better team 2 in a row now, with Smith almost stealing us game 2.
If Mony, Johnny and Lindholm are going to continue to be our worst line, things are going to continue this way. All that said, it’s 2-1, far far from panic time and this series was never going to be easy.

I see nothing wrong with a major shakeup because this clearly isn't working. Czarnik, Valimaki and Stone in. Janko, Brodie and Fantenberg out. And a Rittich start.

Not many. Also who would have picked both the Eastern and Western regular season leaders to be both knocked out in five games or less in the first round of the playoffs, and just out of curiosity when was the last time that happened?

Thats exactly what they did to Mcdavid when they beat them. It works they have to do it to win this series. JG is being hacked and slashed why can't they do the same to Mackinnon.

Which is a more common occurrence in the playoffs? A bad call or some adversity? Yikes if this team can't handle playoff adversity.
When your the team that doesn't dictate pace and your back on your heels, the refs tend to reward the team working. Regardless of whether the call is justified or not, its been like that in the NHL for years (not saying its right).
Start playing with some speed, effort and tenacity, and maybe the calls will start going your way? Just a thought.
1-8 now in road playoff games being led by Johnny and Monahan.

I think were sorely missing a core forward with some balls.
A hard competing centre is our biggest need. Monahan and Jankowski arent getting it done. Backlund is great but we need a play driving centre badly. Monahans effort level is laughable.
