I know this won't be popular but I would rather have Debrusk over Hrudey. I just think Debrusk is a better, more objective colour guy as Kelly spends too much time defending Flames goaltenders and talking about stuff not relevant to the game. I like Hrudey but think he's better in the studio than the PBP booth.

Since Hrudey will be in Toronto I'd be really happy with DeBrusk
Garrett is terrible

Hrudey sounds loaded by the end of some games. Getting his shine on in the booth!

Hrudey was probably a world class teammate. He seems like a fun guy to have hanging around the rink.

Doesn't Debrusk usually work with Randorf on the HNIC games and Cassie works with Ball when Hrudey is in Toronto?

Should the Habs make it in the playoffs, I could see Randorf doing the Habs. The Jets would get Bartlett or Shorthouse.

Speaking of Sportsnet, will all Flames playoff games be broadcast on CBC now - thus free streaming through the CBC app?

Except for the Flames, then they're blacked out if you try to watch within Alberta
Edit: oh sorry thought you said gamecentre live not centre ice

Not so sure. When Snet committed to the Oilers by bringing Shannon back and kicking Remenda to the intermission, and putting Debrusk back full time, the advancements he made the prior couple years as the colour guy for the late games, and away from the Oilers, took huge steps back.
Hrudey seems to want to play it too close down the middle, concerned about some random 3rd liner or backup from the other team, when he’s on a regional Flames broadcast. But Louie turned into a whiner and complainer a lot this year, hanging with that Oilers crowd and having the Oilers brass stop in every night to check in and listening to those media guys explain atrocities that the refs and league are committing nightly in not allowing McDavid to be a star, so even when he did those national non Edmonton games, he was salty a fair bit.
But, color guy is less important than Ball. We won’t get Hughson or Simpson until the Leafs are out, and even if they are, maybe not until R3. I fear that we will get Randorf, as he’s higher up the ladder than Ball in the Snet corporate structure. His grating style and Vancouver heritage never gives me the feeling that he’s ever happy having to do Flames games.

Not too mention that Randorf just doesn't bring the same depth of Flames knowledge and insight that Ball has.

Ball and Shorthouse from the nucks are heads and above Randorff. It’s a shame he is higher up the ladder with Sportsnet. Though the longer he stays the longer we will have Ball
I sincerely hope Randorff just leaves the network. Paul Romanuk left last year and that was a blessing. Neither one should be doing NHL games. In fact I’ve aleays said those two are better off being stuck doing the Womens World Championships or at best the Spengler cup.
