If reports are true that he's looking for a somewhat short term deal I think this is a good bet for the Flames. It shows he has a strong level of belief in himself and allows the organization to move on easily if he doesn't perform or is passed by Foo, Dube, Mangiapane etc...
As far as July 1st signings go it could be one of the more prudent ones.
