Without an all star cast, aside from Hall.

10th this season and they were a middle of the pack team.
22nd last year and they were bottom 4 team.
9th two seasons ago and they were 20th in the league.

That's not quite so bad.

Also, he spent from 07/08 to 13/14 as an assistant in Boston. I don't know his role on that team but they always had a PP in the top half of the league, often top 1/3 or better. He must have learned something from his time there. There is also the Cup win in 2011. He's a veteran assistant coach!

Would be amazing to see Ward do to Andersson what he managed to do with Will Butcher this past season on the PP.

I can get behind Geoff Ward!! I remember wanting him to be HC during the coaching search that eventually produced Gulutzan.

If it ends up happening, cool. I'm just happy the team is getting new coaches.

Peters, Ward, Huska? I have no way of saying if that'll work or anything, but hey - it's different, and different is good when you look at the crap we had to deal with for the last two years....I mean, I don't hate any of them off the bat (unlike when Cameron was hired)...so that's cool.

I like the idea of Huska working his way up through the organization being complimented with two new fresh faces.

Ward also went to the German league between Boston and NJ for one year as HC and won a Championship.

No MacLean? Would have been interesting but we'll see. If it is Huska and Ward you have your defensive specialist and a PP specialist. Seems like a good mix.

And Friedman now confirming it

On my phone for sure someone can do a better embedding job

This is disappointing to say the least. I guess I will have to see about Ward but it does not exactly blow me away but I have said it before and I will say it now, Huska is garbage. I have pretty much zero faith in Tre

Why? Ward seems like a solid hire.

Ward would be interesting since it would be a lateral move for him. Did the Devils not renew his contract for some reason?

I can’t see how. Two hires that seem like a good fit.

I guess I will have to see about that but Peters didn't exactly thrill me as a hire and Huska has been beyond a disappointment in my eyes with Stockton. I would rather they kept Jerrard over Huska and I disliked him too.
