Haha people will complain about anything when it comes to the Leafs. Why is this be a bad thing? It will be a great atmosphere. When you go to a bar they have multiple games on. What's the difference?
The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the flagship franchises of the NHL. They are the oldest and most important sporting franchise in Toronto. They are playing in an elimination game, and in a building not located in Toronto, to boot. It is an utter failure that they do not receive viewing priority in the square.

I don't see what the big deal is. The Leafs game will be at one end and the Raptors at the other. If you want one and not the other, stand in front of that screen. If you want both, stand in the middle and turn around when the crowd cheers.
Personally, I'd rather go to a bar and watch it in comfort while drinking a few beers, rather than standing outside in the cold and rain.

It's really not a big deal unless people want to make it into one.
Raptors are playing at ACC so they get the big screen. Leafs and TFC get the others. It's not like these are rival teams. If all teams win it will be a huge party. If the Leafs come out and suck at least there are 2 other teams you can cheer for.
I see it as a celebration of Toronto sports. Kind of cool to have 3 important games all happening at the same time. Awesome actually.

Young Lions by The Constantines would be the perfect song for when the Leafs step onto the ice for skate around. This team of young lions (Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Rielly, Hyman, Brown, Kapanen, Johnsson, Dermott) will have to stepup big to have a chance of winning this game.
Lyrics are on-point too.
Quote:
Oh, young lions
This is your kingdom
Every beast has its poison
Every lion has its victim
Choose your crime
Pour the ashes out the window
Empty mickey by the river
Shining like a broken halo
Oh, young lions
This is your kingdom
Roll out of the cradle
Climb out the window
Make your love
Too wild for words
Stumbling through the city
With the ordinary birds
Choose your crime
Pour the ashes out the window
Empty mickey by the river
Shining like a broken halo
Loosen your collar
Shake off the wires
Run like a river
Glow like a beacon fire

I should be cheering for the Leafs to take Bruins out, but their fans are sooooo annoying that it is just impossible. Go Bruins! (Then get swept in the 2nd round.)
I think Boston will need to get off to a quick start and get one behind Andersen as they have had a difficult time scoring goals since the opening two games. As I said in the other thread the Bruins look eerily like those Capitals teams that wilt in the playoffs annually. I'm going to call 4-2 Leafs with the 4th goal being an empty netter.
I'm hoping that TFC, the Leafs, the Raptors and the Marlies all go down to defeat tonight.
Yeah and go Preds go.
I'm sick of labeling these type of teams as Canada's team, they're Toronto's team.
In 2004 when the Flames were making their run to the finals, I had a friend in Toronto that phoned me and told me it was great and he was cheering for Canada's team. I told him it was Calgary's team and to stop trying to bogart our success. Then I chanted 67 a dozen times and hung up the phone.
I hate people.

As much as I HATE to say it, I want the leafs to win tonight...actually it's more that I want the B's to lose tonight. I don't know what it is about them but I just don't want the B's to do well.
I want the Preds to beat the jets up, down on and....that doesn't sound good.
I want the pens to win if only for the reason that it might force the caps to make some trades.
I'm all in for Vegas.

I don't often agree with Don Cherry, but I really think the NHL needs to look at a return to 1vs8, 2vs7, 3vs6, 4vs5 format based on conference standings.

Go Bruins!
In the 80s, people complained about the Division playoff format because top teams met too early.
They switched to the Conference playoff format and people complained because there was too much travel in the early rounds and it didn't allow for real playoff rivalries to develop.
They switched back to the Division format, and the old complaints are back again.
No matter what they do, someone won't like it.
