Pretty sure Bennett is running away with that crown currently (Lazar has a point!). Him not using his teammates is probably making his own dry spell worse.
If you're not finishing then at least try and set someone else up.

Lazar s conditioning is what sticks out to me. He looks so tired in the games. And when you're tired you make dumb decisions. Didn't mind him in his first few games but don't see the upside in him at all.

Well yeah... a lot of people wanted Bennett on the wing and they finally got their wish and he has done absolutely nothing with, making the "Bennett to the wing brain trust" look like they have no clue, once again.. So they need to quickly shine the light elsewhere.
Where better than a kid who is skating harder than almost every player on the team and finding himself in some good scoring spots but their timing and confidence is off..

No, no. I just commented on seeing Bennett ignoring Lazar whilst on the ice with him, and wondered why that might be. A couple posters came up with reasons (Lazar killing plays previously in golden scenarios, etc etc)
No whipping boy for Lazar. At least not from my end. I like the kids energy level and compete. He just needs a better finish is all IMO.

More directed at the usual crew who always feel the need to be spouting off about someone at all times. Gets to be abrasive reading.

Yeah, I don't think he's an elite scorer or anything like that. But IMO he will fit in on the bottom six. He's got size, speed and jam. He looks more like an NHLer than a few people the Flames have tried on the bottom six.

Taking a while to get to 5000

Its a bit cliche, but I think with Lazar it is an issue of gripping the stick too tight. He's rushing the opportunities, not looking at the puck. Missing the shots, putting himself ahead of the puck, etc. All signs of a player determined, almost to a fault, to contribute. Can't get down on him for it but they need to get him to settle down just a bit out there. May have been what the benching was about.

Here's the thing about 'gripping the stick':
22 years old, 187 games played, career high 20 points.

New team, under pressure, disappointing NHL career thus far. Some guys just wear the team's woes more than others.
I get what you're saying though. He should be past this, and we're probably seeing the player he is. I'm hoping that's not the case.

I understand some of the pessimism but as a fan I like to be positive, so here are some positive predictions:
- Bennett and Janko break out and form a solid pair. Bennett looks a lot more dangerous on the wing.
- we break 100 pts. This team is good, in every facet of the game we look better than last year.
- Monahan scores 40 goals
- Tkachuk gets 50 pts.
